I (Helen) work from home full-time, and Kayla, works during the day. I am the "Stay-At-Home" dog mom; which allows me to be fully present, so your dog is not left alone for long stretches of time, and they are consistently provided care. Kayla takes the evening shift with the pups, and tires them out with a lot of fetch, and tug-o-war with our mountain of dog toys.

Safety, trust & environment
I take safety and trust very seriously; we have a very short list of people we trust with our fur babies, so when your pup stays with us, we are attentive and keep a watchful eye on their moods, body language, eating and bathroom patterns, etc. We want all animals to be treated with the same care and presence we give ours. If something ever feels off, I’ll reach out and communicate with you right away. We take extra note of how they are settling in for the first few days and will work with you to get them adjusted. We like to keep all the animals in eyesight, to ensure everyone is accounted for and comfortable. Leia and Arlo follow us everywhere, so where they go the other dogs usually follow suit. We change out water fountains daily (using filtered water from the fridge), and have multiple running water fountain stations throughout the house. I sweep and vacuum every two days so pups don’t have access to anything unsafe on the floor. My city requires dogs to be on leash in public areas, and I personally feel safest keeping your dog leashed during our potty breaks and walks. I do have a fenced yard, but there is no locking gate, so dogs are only allowed out there with one of us present. I generally avoid dog parks due to concerns around illness and unpredictable behavior from unfamiliar dogs. We regularly meet up with trusted, well-socialized dogs pup friends for backyard playdates. We have a park right across the street and a huge school field that is great for play.

Information Helen W. would like to know about your pet
To make sure you feel confident that your dog will be safe, happy, and truly at home, we like to prepare ahead of time as much as possible. Once you book, I'll send over our signature pre-stay questionnaire. It goes well beyond the basics.
A typical day
Our fur babies are the center of our routine, so it's seamless to fold your pup into our flow. We plan our schedules each week around our pups so they are always the priority. This is what your dog's overall stay and average day looks like: We take potty walks every 2-3 hours. We go on 3–4 walks a day (15–20 minutes each), longer walks first thing in the morning and ending with a wind-down stroll in the evening. We start each morning with potty and breakfast. We then head out for a “Training Walk” around the neighborhood where we work on leash training and non-reactivity. After our walk, we hang out on our deck, cuddled up in the papasan chair while I do a little work or read. Weather permitting, I keep the door to the fenced deck open so dogs can come in and out, sunbathe and watch the world go by. I have calm jazz or low-fi beats on during the day. We love field trips! Dogs deserve to experience the world right alongside us. For pups with energy and confidence, on warm days, we will head out on an early morning hike. We take a pup cup trip once a week. And I’m always discovering new dog-friendly patios and spots around town so your pup can explore with us. Dogs are never kenneled unless it’s specifically requested or something they personally need for comfort. Dogs either sleep in the bedroom with me and Leia or with Kayla and Arlo. They can sleep either on the bed with us or on a dog bed nearby. If they prefer to sleep in their kennel we put the kennel in the room with us. We close our bedroom doors at night so there’s no wandering after lights out.

Pet care experience
For pups that need more than a place to stay, we provide peaceful, fun, private, in-home care. From daily walks and pup cup runs to catch in the yard, couch naps, training enrichment, hikes, and dog-friendly field trips, our home is clean, fun, and full of natural light, with music playing, access to a fenced deck, and plenty of sunny spots to lounge. We host one guest family at a time to provide close attention. Hello! I’m Helen, and together with Kayla, we’ll be your pup’s concierge. Between the two of us, we have a combined 30 years of raising and loving dogs, cats, and the occasional sugar glider. As dog moms ourselves, we need total peace of mind knowing our own pets are not being treated like a chore, but truly enjoyed. We want your pup to feel snuggled, seen, and loved just like at home. We each have a friendly, fun-loving dog, Leia and Arlo, who love hanging out and playing with new friends. They are oddly good at matching a guest dog’s energy and helping shy dogs feel comfortable. I also have two cats who don’t acknowledge any dog’s existence. We’d love for your pup to join our pack while you’re out in the world.
Reviews

She was suchhhhh a big help. Our boy a pitbull with anxiety and for most he can be quite intimidating but they were über responsive, caring, and thoughtful throughout our whole time away from our dog. I cannot emphasize enough what a great job they did helping us care for our fur baby. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking for walker/sitter

We cannot recommend Helen highly enough. She consistently spends 15–20 minutes longer with our two dogs than we pay for, simply because she genuinely cares about them. Every visit includes clean food and water bowls, detailed notes about how they did, and videos that let us see just how happy and comfortable they are. The biggest difference, though, is the peace of mind she gives us. In the last five years, I’ve never been able to go on vacation without worrying about my dogs. This was the first trip where I truly felt at ease because I knew they were being loved and cared for as if they were her own. She doesn’t just do the job—she goes above and beyond in every possible way. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely over-cares, but that’s exactly who she is. Our dogs absolutely adore her, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found someone we trust completely. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pets like family, Helen is your girl.

Helen was so fantastic! I don’t know if our little snuggler has ever been happier. It was so wonderful to know he was safe and happy while we were away!

Helen and Kayla were absolutely wonderful with our senior pup! We have an elderly dog with significant health issues, so we’re always nervous about leaving him in anyone’s care. After our meet and greet, where we explained his medical needs (he’s 120 lbs and had a seizure the day before our trip), both Helen and Kayla immediately put us at ease. They were attentive, genuinely caring, and clearly experienced with dogs, it was obvious our boy was in excellent hands. Helen went above and beyond, sending regular updates with photos and even a video while we were away. She also followed up after we picked him up to make sure he settled back in smoothly. That kind of attention to detail and genuine concern made all the difference for us as anxious pet parents. We’d give them 10/10 and will absolutely be booking with them again. Highly recommend!
