Belly Rubs, Biscuits and Blankets
I live in Marshalswick, St Albans with my two sons aged 17 and 13. I have been a 'borrower' on Borrow My Doggy since 2023 and looked after a big rescue dog and a pair of Maltipoos on a regular basis whilst their owners are away. I've also looked after dogs for friends. We treat the dogs who come to stay with us as part of our family and ensure they have a 'home from home' experience whereby we provide them with the same routines and care their owners give them. Belly rubs, biscuits and snuggles in blankets are always on offer in our house.

Schedule
Currently I am at home most of the week. I only work out of the house on two half days so doggies staying with us are left for a maximum of four hours on two separate days. However, one of my sons is also at home a lot so he looks after dog visitors when I am at work. Dog visitors are provided with their normal routine as much as possible. Mealtimes, walks and bedtimes are consistent and regular.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced garden and dogs in my care are given regular opportunities to use it. Any dogs staying with us are given a walk twice a day and we have lots of woods and green areas near us to enjoy. Dog guests are always walked on leads. However, over time when I have got to know dogs and recall trust is built, with permission of the owners, I have been able to walk a couple off their leads. I only have one dog at a time or two dogs if from the same home.
