Pet care experience

Future vet, forever animal lover 🐾

I am a 27-year-old veterinary professional with over 13 years of hands-on animal care experience. My journey in pet care began at the age of 14 when I started working as a neighborhood dog walker. Over time, my passion for animals evolved into a deeper interest in canine behavior and training, and I began assisting with obedience and behavioral training for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. These early experiences taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and building trust with animals. By the time I was 19, I transitioned into veterinary medicine, where I’ve now worked for over 8 years. My roles have ranged from kennel assistant and veterinary assistant to my current position as a veterinary technician, which I’ve held for the last 3 years. In this role, I provide both routine and advanced medical care, including administering medications (oral, injectable, and topical), monitoring anesthesia during surgery, assisting in diagnostics, performing lab work, and educating pet owners on home care and wellness. I’ve worked extensively with dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets requiring specialized geriatric care. I am particularly skilled in handling animals with anxiety, chronic illnesses, and post-operative needs. My background in clinical veterinary settings has given me the confidence and expertise to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations. What sets me apart from other sitters is not just my love for animals, but the depth of my medical and behavioral knowledge, my ability to handle special-needs pets, and my commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and individualized care. Whether your pet needs a long walk, medication, or just a gentle, trustworthy presence while you’re away, I bring a level of professionalism and experience that ensures peace of mind

Helen was very good with my dog mia. She took her to the park which is great because I never have time to bring her. Mia is very excitable when going for walks ( she's pulls) Helen gave me some tips on how to control her on a leash. I will definitely use Helen again.

Schedule

My schedule can vary since I’m currently attending college and working, but I make it a priority to be available when needed—especially when bookings are scheduled in advance. I’m highly organized and committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which allows me to carve out dedicated time for pet care. Whether it’s early morning walks, evening check-ins, or full-day care on weekends, I make sure your pets receive the time, attention, and affection they deserve. I understand how important reliability is when it comes to pet care, and I always communicate clearly with clients to ensure their pets’ routines are respected.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a safe, structured, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I have a securely fenced backyard that allows for safe outdoor play and three friendly, well-socialized dogs that are used to sharing their space. Pets are supervised at all times, and I make it a point to keep them engaged and comforted, especially when they may be feeling separation anxiety. Cleanliness, comfort, and emotional well-being are top priorities in my home, and I ensure your pet feels like part of the family during their stay.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day with me is filled with a balance of physical activity, mental enrichment, and plenty of affection. I tailor each day based on your pet’s needs—whether that means long walks, fetch in the yard, puzzle toys for stimulation, or quiet cuddle time. If your pet enjoys outings, I love taking them to the dog park, on car rides, or even to the beach on sunny days. I also follow any feeding or medication schedules closely and provide regular updates with photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.

1. Is your dog up to date on vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and Bordatella? Proof of vaccination is required for the safety of all pets. 2. Does your pet have any behavioral concerns I should be aware of—such as leash reactivity, anxiety, or food aggression? 3. Are there any medical conditions or allergies I should monitor? 4. What comforts your pet most when they’re in a new environment—favorite toys, blankets, or routines? 5. How does your pet typically interact with other animals?
