Our weekends often involve exciting, dog-centric adventures, followed by lots of fuss and a big snooze. One of us works from home every day to look after our dog, and we go out walking twice a day.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a secure garden with 6ft+ fences and walls. There’s a grassy area for play and sunny spots for sunbathing. Inside, your dog will generally be in the kitchen, living room, or office with us. The kitchen has a wipe-clean floor, so accidents are no problem, and dogs are allowed on the sofa (when invited!), ensuring your pet will be very comfortable. We have one pet dog in the home (born 2022, male, neutered). He’s very friendly, and we haven’t yet met a dog he doesn’t get along with. You are very welcome to bring your dog’s crate if you would like them to be crated. We will always take your dog and ours on a walk for their first meeting so their initial interactions are on neutral ground.

Information Helen S. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to know a few key things about your pet to make sure they have the best stay possible. Let us know about their temperament — how they get along with other dogs and people — as well as any fears or anxieties (like loud noises or separation). We’d love to hear about their usual routine, energy levels, and favorite activities. Any health issues, dietary needs, or medication they’re on are essential too. The more we know about what makes your dog happy and comfortable, the better we can tailor their stay to feel like a home away from home.
A typical day
We’ll make sure your dog has a fun, happy stay with plenty to keep them busy. We go on lovely walks to places like Stoke Park, Pewley Down, and the Chantries, plus lots of playtime with balls, toys, sniffing games, and training practice, keeping your dog mentally and physically stimulated. They will have plenty of company with our friendly dog, Rio. We do two walks a day — an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon — or one longer walk on weekends if that suits better. Our car is safely set up for two dogs, so if you’re happy, we can even take fun trips to places like the beach. After a a busy day, your dog can relax with some fuss on the sofa or if they prefer, unwind and relax in their own space.

Loving, Reliable, and Experienced Pet Care
Pet care experience
We’ve always had pet dogs in the home, and I’ve been taking care of family and friends’ pets since I was a teenager. Both my partner and I have volunteered at animal sanctuaries overseas, where we were responsible for the care of many dogs (and cats and goats!) as well as sanctuary operations. This included ensuring the animals’ safety both inside the sanctuary and while on walks, and providing a suitable, clean, and secure environment. We have experience with lots of breeds, rescue dogs (with varying needs), and all ages — from puppies through to seniors. I have experience administering medication to dogs, including giving injection, eye/ear drops, tablets and liquid medications. I can also help with basic grooming and bathing. We are happy to feed your pet whatever their usual diet is, whether that’s kibble, wet food, raw food, or anything in between. We are truly passionate about dogs, which means we’re always happy to go the extra mile.
Reviews

Dali had a fantastic time on her sleepover with Helen. She loved hanging out and having doggy fun with Rio and is looking forward to her next visit already.

Helen was fantastic with Murphy. She kept us fully updated with regular check-ins and plenty of photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Helen, Joe, and Rio truly went above and beyond to make sure Murphy was well cared for, comfortable, and entertained throughout his stay. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much! 🙂

We have been using Helen for a number of weeks now and couldn’t be happier with the care she provides for our dog Archie. Helen invited us to meet before booking to ensure our dog and hers got along which put our minds at ease. Her communication is great, we get regular updates and lots of pictures. Archie loves going to visit Helen and enjoys playing with Rio!

Helen was Absolutely fantastic. She provided us with regular updates and photos and was even happy to organise a brief visit to their house beforehand to make sure the dog get along. The garden is nice and spacious for dogs to run around in and they've been taking the dogs for regular walks with the ball to make sure they get all the fulfillment and fun they could ask for. We will definitely be using Helen's services again.
