Experience with dogs & cats
I had pets as a child and since my own family started almost 30 years ago. I used to foster dogs for an animal charity until I chose to adopt one of the dogs I had fostered for six months. During this time I cared for cats alongside dogs, raising our pets from kittens and puppies. One of our elderly dogs was blind and had diabetes and cushings. I needed to administer insulin to him twice a day by injection for over 2 years.

Ron stayed overnight with Helen and was completely at ease — which always means so much to us. Helen sent regular updates and photos throughout his stay, and it’s incredibly reassuring to see him looking relaxed, happy, and genuinely cared for. Ron absolutely loves being with Helen, it’s one of the few places he settles straight away. We’ve used her regularly because she understands him so well, and every stay reminds us why we trust Helen so deeply. It truly feels like leaving him with family.
This was Sid’s longest stay with Helen so far. I had an update every day with photos and was totally reassured. Sid is an anxious boy but I trust Helen completely to look after him - she is so kind and caring and really gets him!
Henry has had another great weekend with Helen. Loads of photos and updates of all his walks and activities and he’s come home relaxed and happy.
I cant thank Helen enough for looking after Alfie. Alfie adores Helen and runs up to Helens front door, he cant wait to see Helen. I think he is sometimes a bit dissapointed when we collect him. Helen has been looking after Alfie for just over a year now, and although Alfie is a rescue dog, and has some unusual quirks, Helen shows infinate patience and kindness, with Alfie. I never have any concerns when it comes to leaving Alfie with Helen. I dont know what we would do without Helen. Thanks so much.
Helen was great looking after our dog Lana for the morning in her dog friendly house and garden, even on a very hot day she was thoughtful of the dogs needs. Will be booking again.
What a rare and wonderful find that Helen was !!! I think Tis fair to say Charlie has had a wonderful holfiay and Looks so relaxed and happy - We’re not confident ‘go away without out hairy sprout’ people and she was so kind to me also , her pace is wonderful and it is immediately obvious to us how muchh he’s enjoyed her company as I almost didn’t want to leave ! A plethora of kind words and photos of their adventures while we slipped away for three nights helped us relax and enjoy ourselves and I just can’t thank you enough Helen for your patience , kindness and opening your home and all your blankets to our silly , happy boy . He sends so much love xxxxx

Schedule
I’m currently not working, having recently retired from my employment. Therefore I am flexible with my schedule for caring for your pets and am able to be with them at all times if necessary.

Safety, trust & environment
I do not currently have any full time pets at home. However, the environment remains pet friendly and they can have access to all areas of the home.
A typical day
I love to go for walks locally and can go further afield by car, if your dogs are ok travelling. There are plenty of open spaces around where I live to exercise, play and socialise. I will be led by what your dog needs and their daily routine.
