Retired Nurse - Realizing My Dream!
I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes since I was a young girl, and animals have always been a natural part of my life. I’ve rescued dogs throughout my adulthood and loved every breed, personality, and quirky soul that’s come my way. Even cats — despite my allergies — tend to walk right up to me, which always makes me smile. I’ll still care for them with love (and a little help from allergy meds). I’m an empath with a deep, intuitive connection to animals. Nervous, shy, senior, or sensitive pets usually relax around me quickly. I read their body language, respect their boundaries, and create a calm, predictable environment where they feel safe and understood. I also bring professional caregiving skills to my pet care. As a retired massage therapist and longtime caregiver, I can offer gentle pet massage, calming touch, and support for aging, compassionate end of life care and support or anxious dogs. I’m comfortable providing wound care, administering medications, and injections for diabetic animal when needed.

Helen is amazing! We left our 6 yo Great Dane with her twice in one week and, let me just say, that driving over for the second time, once we entered Helen's complex our girl would not relax...she was so excited to go play with her new friend again. Dane's are amazing dogs, but they do have unique "Dane" needs but as Helen is very experienced with Dane's I never stressed once. Thank you Helen for welcoming my girl into your house and providing her with amazing care.
Helen was so loving and attentive to all Chewy's quirkiness. I felt so confident leaving him for an overnight stay. You can just sense the dog lover within her the first time you meet her. I will definitely call on her for both both short and longer stays.

What truly sets me apart is the combination of lifelong love of animals, my experience, intuition, and genuine compassion. Your pet will be cared for with patience, warmth, and the same steady presence I’ve brought to every animal I’ve loved. When I am caring for your loved one I commit to your Pet only. No other side jobs. No leaving to walk or feed another animal. I serve one family at a time whether that is 1 pet or 3 or more Your family is my priority always.

A typical day
I love to play catch, and chase, hide and seek. I enjoy inventing games for them that stimulate their senses and their natural instincts. I am hands on as well to cuddle, stroke and massage. Animals love to play and to feel safe at rest. They will get that with me.

- It’s important to me to operate on the same wave length that you have set up For them. For instance I love playing fetch or catch with fresh carrots but if you would prefer no people food or no snacks then that’s how it is. if you don’t allow on furniture or on bed - will say no as well. I want to know the words you use for toileting, eating, going out etc. also any special fears or dislikes as far as play and touch. If they have been sheltered as much info as you have about their care in shelter and length of time. Also important to know why they were surrendered to shelter. Not to disallow them. But to r spect an honor their needs. I’m doing this work because I want to give all animals but especially special needs animals and sheltered animals the love, nurturing, and care they always observed. No dog is born mean. My opinion dogs are taught they cannot trust and rely on humans. I want to change that.
