Hello, my name is Helen. I have been surrounded by cats and dogs (and more!) my whole life. I have experience in a range of dog/cat breeds and temperaments as well as experience including puppies and administering care (medication or other) for elderly animals. I would describe myself as very patient, practical, and caring. When I am with your pet, I am fully present, and enjoy getting to truly know them and their needs over time. Time spent with your pet is valuable!

I approach all pets with the knowledge that trust is built over time. I allow the pet to open up to me according to their pace and comfort, whether I am pet-sitting for you or providing dog-walking services. I appreciate knowing about your pet routines and preferences so that I can incorporate them as much as possible -- do they have favorite parks? Do they get restless at a certain time of day? Do they get spooked by certain things on walks? Any and all information is welcome, but I also learn a lot about your pet by observing them. When we are together, their safety and health will be my top priority and I use cautious discernment when interacting with other dogs/people/etc as we navigate the neighborhood together.

Schedule
I recently lost my job as a result of USAID cuts. Because of this, my schedule is highly flexible, and I am able to prioritize the families/pets I am working with in my weekly routine. I am happy to accommodate last-minute requests when I am available.
