Dogs come first. Every time
Dogs have been part of my life since childhood, so I'm comfortable with any size or personality. Their safety is non-negotiable — when I was in the Peace Corps and realized the environment wasn't safe for the dog I'd adopted, I sent him back to the U.S. rather than risk it. That's the same care I bring to every walk and every stay. I run regularly, so your dog gets an actual walk, not a lap around the block — they'll come home tired and happy. I also have my own dog, so walks might come with a buddy, if you're up for it.

Safety, trust & environment
I show up on time and stick to your dog's usual routine — same leash, same route, same pace, unless you'd like something different. I watch their energy and body language throughout, not just for safety, but to actually read what they need that day. Before I go, I make sure water's out and everything's left the way I found it. I also send a quick photo or update after the walk, so you know exactly how it went.

We've known Heidi for years, and she's watched our dog, Cooper, on several occasions. She takes him on great walks, and he loves playing with her dog, Magic. I’ve known Heidi for almost 20 years, and one of the things we’ve always bonded over is how much we love animals. She is truly one of those people that animals just seem to gravitate toward. Anytime she comes to visit, my two pups are absolutely obsessed with her! I was also lucky enough to watch Heidi’s new puppy for her while she made a trip to Colorado Springs to pick up her new kitten, and seeing how much she loves and cares for her own animals makes it so easy to recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with theirs. Heidi is incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever met. I would trust her completely with my own pups, and I know she’ll treat every animal she cares for like one of her own. Anyone who books with Heidi will be in wonderful hands!
Heidi was great with our active golden retriever. She took her on short runs and walks and was careful to give her exercise without tiring her out. Heidi is an animal lover and is also a pet owner and I always feel confident that she is taking good care of my dog when I entrust her to Heidi.

Schedule
Pet care isn't something I fit in around my day — it's already part of it. I have open availability across mornings, afternoons, and evenings, so your dog's walk or visit isn't squeezed into a narrow window between other commitments — it's a real priority, not an afterthought. I also have my own dog, so daily walks, feeding schedules, and reading a dog's mood or energy level are already habits, not extra tasks. Your dog's care gets the same consistency mine does.
