I have over 25 years of hands-on animal care experience, starting in childhood on a farm and continuing throughout my life. Caring for animals has always been a core part of who I am, not just something I do. I have extensive experience with dogs and cats. I am comfortable caring for pets of all ages, including pets with more medicine needs. I work with animals of all sizes and dispositions. I am very experienced with medication administration, including oral medications, subcutaneous injections in cats, injections in dogs, and specialty medications such as cancer treatments, which I administer carefully and safely using proper protective equipment. I am also familiar with veterinary care routines and attentive to changes in behavior or health. I am known for being gentle, patient, observant, and calm, even in challenging situations. I have significant experience caring for senior pets, animals with medical needs, and cats with strong personalities or aggression. I respect animals’ boundaries, read their body language closely, and know when to give space and when to confidently stand my ground so everyone stays safe and comfortable. What truly sets me apart is how deeply I care. I love getting to know each animal as an individual, learning their routines, preferences, and quirks, and interacting with them in the way that works best for them. I take pride in making animals feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for while their humans are away. I’m trustworthy, attentive, and fully present when I’m with your pets. I will likely give them silly nicknames and may even sing to them, but above all, I will treat them with kindness, respect, and the same level of care I would want for my own animals.

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my approach is centered on safety, consistency, and respect for each pet’s routine. I take the time to understand each pet’s needs, preferences, and any special care instructions so their environment feels as familiar and stress-free as possible. I follow established feeding schedules, medication instructions, and care routines carefully, and I’m experienced administering a wide range of medications when needed. I’m attentive to behavior, appetite, energy levels, and overall comfort, and I address any concerns promptly and thoughtfully. I prioritize creating a calm, clean, and secure environment. I’m mindful of doors, gates, leashes, litter boxes, food storage, and any household safety considerations. I respect pets’ boundaries and personalities, and I interact with them in the way that works best for them, whether that’s active engagement, gentle companionship, or giving them space while still keeping a close eye on their well-being. Communication is very important to me. I provide regular updates, including photos, so pet parents can see that their pets are comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I’m responsive, transparent, and proactive with communication, which helps owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away. Above all, I care for pets with patience, attentiveness, and genuine affection. I take the responsibility seriously and treat every pet and home with the same level of care and respect I would expect for my own.

Heidi was wonderful! She was so great at giving regular updates, personalizing the experience for our fur kiddos, and treating them with the same care we would! She paid amazing attention to detail and was so reliable!
Heidi did a fabulous job house sitting our anxious dog, Polly. We were very happy to see that Heidi got Polly to go on walks, which she normally refuses with new sitters, in the daily updates. We came home to a happy, healthy pup and the house was just as we’d left it. We would highly recommend Heidi to anyone looking for a responsible and caring sitter.
Heidi is such a lovely person. I can definitely trust her. I wish I wasn’t so nervous about leaving my dog with her due to my past bad experience with someone else.

Heidi is a trusted person to watch pets of all kinds. She is truly kind and loving to all of my pets and takes the best care of them while I am out of time. She is beyond responsible and I never worry when she is taking care of pets. She goes the extra mile from what a typical pet sitter does and stays longer for love and playtime. Heidi is the MOST responsible and caring sitter I have ever known. I will not use anyone else, PERIOD. She is top notch when caring for my indoor and outdoor animals. I have a small homestead and although we have more animals than the typical homeowner, she takes great care of them. I can tell she truly loves all animals and my cats (a bunch of silly rascals) absolutely love her. When I went on vacation for a week, she sent me daily updates which was so considerate since I really don’t like leaving any of my babes for long periods of time. 100% recommend her, she is the best!

Schedule
I work from home, which means my schedule is very flexible, and pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. Because I’m not tied to a rigid office schedule, I’m able to plan my days around pet visits, routines, and any special care needs rather than trying to fit them in between other commitments. I’m proud to be one of the go-to pet sitters in my Sacramento community, and I take that trust seriously. When I commit to caring for pets, they receive my full attention, not rushed or distracted care. I’m able to reliably maintain feeding schedules, administer medications, provide enrichment and companionship, and keep up with daily care tasks that help pets feel comfortable and secure. I understand how important consistency, calm, and reliability are for pets when their people are away. My flexible schedule allows me to spend quality time with each pet, observe their behavior closely, and notice any changes early. I communicate clearly and provide thoughtful updates so pet parents can feel confident and at ease while they’re gone. Pet sitting isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule. It’s something I intentionally make space for. I genuinely enjoy caring for animals and am excited to continue offering dependable, attentive, and compassionate pet care to my community.
