In a client's home, I first make sure that the pet is doing well; do they seem alert and active? Are they acting within their normal personality? Have they eaten and had water? Is there waste in the house that needs to be picked up/cleaned? I will then set about whatever chores need to be done; feeding and giving the animals water, cleaning up their waste, and spending time with them, be it walking, playing, snuggling, or in the case of some very wary cats, making sure they are still in the house and appear well, but not pushing their boundaries. For all animals, routines are incredibly important, and I will ensure a punctual routine for them that fits within my own restrictions.
Information Heather W. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time, I need to know if there are any medical concerns for the pet; does the ankmal have special needs? Take medication? Is it allergic to anything? Does the animal have any medical conditions such as seizures? Should I be looking out for any behavior in particular that you are trying to keep track of as apart of their medical regime? Are they animal aggressive, or do they love spending time with other animals? Do they have a favorite toy they like to play with? Is there a special treat they love? The more information I have about your fur baby, the better I can care for them while you are away.
A typical day
Every visit begins with a happy greeting- one client’s dog dances when she sees me! Another client’s cats greet me just as happily as I greet them. For dogs, it’s all about walkies, pets, dinner (of course), and play time if they’ll have it. Do they like chasing balls? Great! I like throwing them! For cats, dinner comes first! Then it’s pets if they’ll have them, or we can hang out next to each other if not. Sometimes just a calming presence is good enough. But if there are toys, and the cats are interested, our visit involved playing with said toys after the chores are done.

Pet care experience
I have worked in veterinary medicine since 2011 and have over 25 years of personal and professional animal experience. I have experience working with: Dogs Cats Rabbits Rodents Fish Reptiles Birds Because of my veterinary background, I can easily care for younger and older pets, as well as give medications and injections as needed. I pride myself on providing excellent animal care, and if I find myself without knowledge, I'll make sure to educate myself prior to the care of that animal. I feel that animals deserve the very best care that I can provide, and that it is my responsibility to provide that when they are entrusted to me.

Reviews

Heather was great as always. She takes the best pictures of animals! Always communicative.

Heather was amazing. Made us feel very much at ease while we were on our trip. She went above and beyond and even helped us with some light housework. She even brought our kitties a new toy! Will definitely book again. Thank you Heather!!

Heather is such an awesome sitter. Annabella loves her and I appreciate her patience with Annabella’s quirkiness and sometimes my mistakes. 😂

Best sitter ever
