I work from home and have a very flexible work schedule, so I can make frequent visits almost any day of the week. If your pet has health concerns (meds, needs to be fed at specific times, etc) or needs a specific schedule, I can accommodate for that the vast majority of the time. I will always communicate any schedule conflicts before finalizing a booking.

Safety and trust are always my top priorities. I approach animals I'm just getting to know on their terms so they can feel safe and secure. I pay close attention to their body language and wait for them to approach me while we are first getting acquainted. I am always sure to leave things in your home exactly how you want them, including cleaning up after myself or any pet messes I find.

While you will always be their favorite person, my goal is to be a close runner-up to reduce stress and anxiety for pets AND owners!
A typical day
I love to play with dogs and cats, whether it be fetch, feather toys, puzzle feeders, or a nice walk around the neighborhood. I am also a cuddler, so if your pet likes belly rubs, pets, chin scratches, or a lap to sit on, I'm here for it! You will rarely find me sitting on a chair or the couch. I prefer to sit on the floor, either at or below their level so they feel secure. I also talk to them the entire time just like they are people so they get familiar with my voice. I know that may sound strange, but engaging multiple senses in a positive way fast-tracks bonding and trust-building, which reduces anxiety and territorial behavior.

Pet care experience
I've been caring for animals for as long as I can remember. I connect with each animal and get to know what is normal behavior and what isn't so I can quickly identify if anything seems off. You can rest easy knowing you'll be immediately informed if anything seems concerning. And, I'll also provide updates with each visit, including pictures. I am an excellent communicator and very detail-oriented. I ask lots of questions during meet-and-greets to ensure there is no disruption in your pet's usual care and routine.

We had a great experience booking Heather through Rover! Our two cats can be shy with new people but were happy to see Heather for feeding and playtime. They also take medication via pill and they had no issues accepting that from her. We received detailed updates and lots of pics. We came home to two content kitties!
Heather is the most wonderful, caring sitter for our two senior kitties! She always goes above and beyond for them. We love her!
This was my (and my girls’!) first time using the Rover app and Heather was outstanding! She was flexible and was able to accommodate my crazy schedule with time to meet my girls and see if their personalities were a good match. (Side note: they totally were.)
