Happy dog, happy life! 🐾🖤
I volunteered caring for dogs and cats, including walking, bonding, socializing, and basic care. I’ve worked with a range of large to small dogs because of this! I have also pet sat in the past! I have given 24 hour care for a pitt mix and a mini doodle, as well as drop ins for several other dogs, including a shepherd mix, jack russels, retreivers, doodles, and some cats! I know how to communicate to owners about their dogs and understand dogs individual needs and that they get met. Furthermore, I cared for a senior dog the last six years. Assisting in mobility issues, slower paces, needing a calm environment, and understanding fluctuating daily energy. I also understand working with reactive dogs! I have worked with dogs reactive to people or to other dogs and I understand taking measures to avoid a stressful situation or to de-escalate it.

I cared for my pet by adapting to his schedule and I plan to do the same with a clients! I had a schedule for my pet but when he got older I realized I needed to adapt to his, so I would listen to what he needed (within reason) and provide the extra care wanted, like an extra walk or more sleep or slow jogs. I plan to do the same with a clients four-legged friend! I also plan to communicate consistently with people and as soon as possible to reduce anxiety and let them know how their companion is doing.

Heather is a very knowledgable and loving pet caregiver. She has dealt with many different kinds of dogs, from temperament and age to breeds and needs. She knows the do's and don't's of the doggy world, with her experience in a shelter and training dogs, her expertise surprises me ever time she interacts with a new breed. She knows not to be on her phone when walking a dog and the importance of communicating to the owners about how their fur baby is doing throughout the day. She also knows a lot about each breed, how some dogs need more running and exercise, while others need slower walks with more sniff breaks. Needless to say, I would have her look after any of my or my friends dogs any day of the week, because I know with her my fur-babies are safe, cared for, loved, and treated well.
Heather is the best at taking care of dogs and the most trust worthy. She has helped me walk my dogs (Aussie and Maltese) when I needed help. She goes out of her way to make sure my dogs get the best walk outside by playing with a ball or giving them pets! I’ve seen her friends reach out to her when they need help with their pets and I’m one of those people because I don’t know what I would do without her help. She understands how to take care of my dogs that includes knowing how to properly feed them, exercise them , and I’m sure if I asked for some help on giving them a bath she wouldn’t hesitate. She truly is the best dog Lover I know and I trust her with my dogs.

Schedule
In the past I’ve been responsible for my family dog everyday. This goes from walks daily (usually 2) and feeding as well as playtime and lounging time. Currently I no longer have a pet to care for as he sadly passed away, but I look forward to being avaliable day and night!
