I am available to walk dogs during weekday afternoons or anytime on the weekend. Walks can be up to 1 hour long. I am available for drop-ins morning and evening for feeding, medicating, and litterbox cleaning. I cannot do overnight stays due to the need to care for my own dog.

I will drive to your house to care for your pet in the comfort of their own home. I have a reliable vehicle. In the unlikely event that my car is not able to get me there, I will make sure to have the number of a taxi company or my local car rental available, or a nearby friend with a car available to drive me, so your pet will not be without care. I care deeply for the well-being of animals. I will not use a prong collar or choke chain to walk dogs. Please only contact me if you use a flat collar, harness or halti/gentleleader. I'll walk at your dog's pace and take breaks if necessary in the heat. I can give pills to well-behaved animals, but prefer a pill pocket or alternative if it will stress out the animal, or get me bitten. I'm also fairly adept at squeezing through doors to keep cats/small dogs from escaping.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behavioural issues when you contact me. I prefer not to walk giant breeds of dogs unless well trained. Also if you use any pieces of more uncommon, complicated equipment that I may not have used before, please make sure you have time to show me how to put it on and adjust it properly.

I'm open to walking, and playing fetch or other games with your dog's favourite toy. I'm happy to put on whatever outdoor attire your dog needs to stay comfortable and have fun. I have experience training my own now well-behaved dog and am open to doing some basic training, though please note that I am not a professional dog trainer. If your cat needs some cuddles or playtime during a drop-in feeding/litter cleaning visit, I would be more than happy to provide that too.

I've had dogs my whole life. I currently have a Border Collie that I've raised and trained since puppyhood. Something that sets me apart from other dog owners and sitters is that despite having a dog as a child, I still did a huge amount of research before getting one as an adult. And as a result, I have a vast amount of knowledge of behaviour, training, illnesses, and care that I think other dog owners may not have. I worked as a doggy daycare and kennel attendant several years ago and got some good experience with all different types of dogs and medication-giving.

Highly recommend Heather to anyone on this app! She was great and communicative and there was no issue. My pets loved her. She went above and beyond :)
Heather looked after my 3 cats while while I was on vacation for 10 days. Her care is above and beyond and her love for animals is amazing. My next vacation which will be soon I will be booking Heather to care for my fur babies.
Heather does a wonderful job as a pet caregiver. As a child, she grew up with 5 cats and 2 dogs, and she was absolutely devoted to them. Whether it was walking the dog, cleaning the cat litter trays, or just playing with the animals, she was always very actively engaged in caring for them. Heather now owns a dog whom she has raised since he was a puppy. As a border collie, he requires a lot of activities to keep him busy, and Heather fills his days with long walks, learning tricks, and playing mentally-stimulating games. She also has a very good understanding of animal health and well-being, making her a capable caregiver in the event a pet is in distress or ill-health. With her deep love of all animals, from cats to horses, and her dedication to caring for them (rain or shine), I guarantee that any pet owner will be pleased with her services.
