Safety, trust & environment

I will come to your house to feed, play with and walk your pets with an extra leash in addition to your own to increase safety. Poop bags at the ready! During play, I may even teach them a trick or two for a fun engagement.

Information Heather M. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has: • special needs • reactivity towards other dogs/people • safe foods/treats, food allergies • triggers for anxiety or fear • dog friends in the neighborhood • favorite toys/activities • needs help with basic training, conditioning to grooming or nail trims • a special walking route to guarantee a successful potty • medication • feeding requirements

A typical day

Physical and mental stimulation and engagement is so important for any pet. I love to find the hidden gems of playgrounds or neighborhood lakes to go on a “sniffari” - letting your pup take lead on the walk. I love watching them feel like they’re doing a “job” finding the scent trail of some critter or other odd scent. Sniffaris are an excellent boredom buster and known to relieve stress through mental exercise while still on the move! During drop-in visits, I can help them feel their “wild heart” in a variety of activities such as hide/seek games, scent tracking treats, digging/tearing paper to get to a bit of food, playing fetch or tug, or teaching new tricks. Your pet is guaranteed to have some fun!

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m a work-from-home graphic designer, dedicated pet parent, and proud mom with a BIG heart for animals of all kinds! With over 15 years of experience, I’ve cared for everything from dogs and cats to geckos, birds, rabbits, and even horses. 📅 Availability: ☀️ Weekdays: 9:30am – 2:30pm (M–F) 🌞 Weekends: Flexible — just ask! 🌙 Evenings: After 6:00pm (Mon–Sat) 🚗 Serving Aurora & Naperville Got a high-energy pup? Let’s turn walks into adventures! I love incorporating “sniffaris” (letting dogs explore with their noses), urban agility (using steps, poles, and safe obstacles), and fun brain games to keep them physically and mentally engaged. For more shy or anxious pets, I provide a calm, patient, and reassuring presence. I also offer gentle training support for things like grooming, nail trims, and impulse control—always using positive reinforcement. My background includes years of experience at PetSmart’s PetsHotel & small pet care department, volunteering with the Fox Valley Animal Welfare League, and hands-on training in canine behavior, agility, conformation, nosework, and FastCAT. Whether your pet needs extra exercise, companionship, or specialized care, I’d love to help. Let’s make their time with me a happy, enriching experience!

Heather is always so attentive to my dog’s needs! I have a senior girl at home who is set in her ways, but she took to Heather immediately. She sends very detailed updates with photos AND videos to keep you in the loop. So glad we found her!!
