Pet care experience

Walks, Wags, and Plenty of Love

What sets me apart is my lifelong experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and personalities. I was raised with pets and have hands-on experience caring for dogs ranging from Boxers and German Shepherds to Terrier mixes. I understand that every pet has unique needs, energy levels, and routines, and I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I have also completed a Leash Reactive Dog Course Certification, which has given me valuable training in understanding and safely handling dogs that may be reactive, anxious, or overstimulated on walks. This helps me provide calm, confident care while prioritizing your dog's safety and comfort. In addition, I have experience caring for cats of many breeds, including Siamese, Himalayan, Maine Coon, and both long-haired and short-haired domestic cats. I've cared for cats from playful kittens to senior companions, giving me experience with age specific needs and senior care. Whether your pet is young, energetic, shy, reactive, or in their golden years, I provide dependable, attentive care and treat every pet as if they were my own family.

Heather M. has had animals throughout her life, beginning with a blue-eyed Alaskan Huskie that she adored! She considers them her "miniature friends" and always recognizes their unique personalities. Any customer should feel confident that their family pet will be treated with the utmost care.

Heather is a very calm, organized, reliable and attentive caregiver. She is trustworthy, caring and will communicate with you promptly. I would highly recommend and trust her with pets who are our "babies".

Schedule

I currently work from home while my husband grows our family inspection business, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time for walks, playtime, enrichment activities, and lots of belly rubs. Animals have always been a big part of my life. Recently, I lost my beloved cat after 17 wonderful years. While we're not quite ready to welcome another permanent pet into our family, the universe seemed to have other plans. A wounded stray cat found her way into our driveway and into our hearts. We took her in, got her the care she needed, and are now helping her heal and thrive. Caring for animals brings me so much joy, and I'd love the opportunity to provide the same love, attention, and dependable care to your pets while you're away.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a calm, low-stress home environment where pets receive plenty of individualized attention. Because I work from home, I'm able to give pets lots of supervision, companionship, and engagement throughout the day. Whether your pet prefers relaxing in a quiet setting or needs extra playtime and exercise, I tailor my care to their unique personality and routine to help them feel safe, comfortable, and right at home.

Pets

A typical day

Lots of engagement and attention, walks for pups and laps for cats. We can check out the neighborhood, the trees, and check out all the new smells. I am reactive leash trained, so if we run into anything on our walks, I am confident in reading behavior to apply redirection, reassurance, and distancing before your pup reacts.

Let me know if your pet has any specific needs for care or dietary needs. I would also like to know how your pup is on leash and if you notice anything to look out for. What are you goals during walks: exercise, engagement, sniffing and exploring, just a potty break, work on training techniques, or any other goal?
