I work from home 4 days a week, which means I have a super flexible schedule and can check in on your baby at nearly any time throughout the day. Whether it’s regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, or just some company while you’re away, I’m able to be there consistently. I love being outdoors, so I can make sure your pup gets plenty of fresh air and exercise and I live right across the road from a park and dog exercise park. My routine allows for both structured care and last-minute bookings, and I’ll always keep you updated with how your pet is doing while you’re away.

Safety, trust & environment

(Starting from January I will offer pet boarding!) I don’t currently offer pet boarding at my home, but I’m more than happy to care for your pet in their own familiar environment or take them out for walks. I know how important it is for pets to feel safe and secure, so I take the time to get to know their routines, preferences, and any special needs they might have. Whether it’s keeping them company during the day, following feeding schedules, giving them enrichment, or just being a calming presence, I’ll treat your pet with the same care and attention I would my own. Your baby’s comfort and wellbeing are always my top priority.

Information Heather M. would like to know about your pet

I’d love to know as much as possible about your pet to make sure I give them the best care. Things like their temperament, energy levels, daily routine, and any specific likes or dislikes are really helpful. It’s also important to know if they have any medical conditions, allergies, or are on any medication. If they have any triggers, behavioural quirks, or need special handling around other dogs or people, just let me know so I can keep them safe and comfortable. The more I know, the more I can tailor the experience to what makes them feel happy and secure.

A typical day

I love to make sure pets are mentally stimulated as well as physically active, and above all, that they feel safe, happy, and loved. I believe in the importance of enrichment, so I give them time to sniff and explore on walks to keep their minds engaged. For energetic pups, I’ll play games like fetch, and if they know any tricks, I’m happy to practise with them using treats and encouragement. I can also help teach basic tricks and commands, keeping things fun and positive. I’ve developed a good understanding of dog’s body language over the years, so I know when a dog needs space, reassurance, or a bit more playtime. I’m based beside Peckham Rye Park, with Brockwell and Burgess Parks nearby too, which are great spaces for stimulating and varied walks. I think dogs deserve to enjoy the world around them, and I do my best to make each day with them full of joy, comfort, and new experiences.

Fairy dog mother!

Pet care experience

Hi, I’m Heather – an Irish girl living in London and a lifelong animal lover. I’ve cared for everything from small pets to farm animals, but dogs and cats have always had a special place in my heart. I have my own dog (son) Chester, who lives in the Irish Countryside with my mother - I haven’t brought him to London because he loves his freedom and he would hate city life but he also provides great company and protection for my elderly mother, despite his small stature! Since I can’t have one of my own right now, I regularly look after friends’, family and now Rover customers’ pets, offering everything from walks and grooming to sitting and sleepovers. This isn’t just a way for me to earn money, I am passionate about making sure our beloved animals get the care and treatment they deserve always, and I’d be thrilled to give your dog the same love when you can’t be there! and I will always tailor my care to their individual needs, preferences and personalities with pleasure! I’m also completing a dog behaviour and training certification in my free time to ensure I can deliver the best possible services :)

Heather was great! Super responsible with our pooch who can be a little problematic. Luna loved her stay, and Heather sent regular updates to keep us in the loop. Would highly recommend!

Heather was very quick in responding to my last minute request and asked many questions to ensure she knew everything about Zuzu. She kept me updated during the day and Zuzu was a one happy boy when I picked him up . I definitely recommend her care :)
