It’s important for me to know what the dog or dogs’ daily routine entails. If they are taking medications, please provide the current dosage and timing of each medication and any preferred method for dispensing or applying the medication(s). The same is true for their food including any treats. I keep fresh water available at all times. I also want information about their physical activity and social needs and preferences. If they have any particular fears or joys, allergies or sensitivities, please let me know of those, too.
A typical day
Dogs, like people, need appropriate physical, social and mental stimulation, the degrees of which vary by individual. I try to meet the needs of each of the pets I stay with.

Pet care experience
I’m a former veterinary technician, animal rescue and foster care provider. I’m self-employed with a flexible schedule and enjoy taking walks with dogs, and would like to meet some cool dogs this way to enjoy walks with in the Jack London area of Oakland. I’m also interested in pet sitting in homes with high speed internet in lovely locations.

We have had a great experience working with Heather as she drops in on our elderly dog, Tara. Heather has a background caring for dogs and her experience shines through during her interactions. I’d recommend Heather to anyone considering having a regular caregiver for their pup.
Heather has pet sat for us and many friends. She reinforces good canine habits and training and pays a lot of attention to your pet. She planned her schedule to maximize time spent with our dog and did a lot of hiking with our active labrador. She even made him special pup treats. I would have full confidence in trusting Heather with the care of a beloved pet.
Heather M loves dogs! She understands their needs and behaviors. Dogs love her! They respond to her with confidence and lots of tail wags. Heather gave our dog her full attention when she house/dog sat for us. Our dog Emma was given plenty of love and exercise on our trails and swims at the beach. Heather threw in some training and intellectual challenges as well. Heather is a lovely person. I trust Heather M completely and recommend her without reservation.
I have known Heather M for approximately 15 years, and have used her pet sitting services on a number of occasions, but short and long term. She is the best! Not only is she wonderful with my dogs, but she is mature, responsible individual who we totally trust with both dog and house problems that may arise. Her experience as a vet tech has been very helpful when our aging dog had difficulties and she could guide us in determining what course of action to take. I cannot say enough positive about Heather; if you want your time away to be worry free, to know that your pets (and your house) are in the best of hands, there's no one better!
