I have been surrounded by all sizes and temperaments of dogs for most of my life. I was always the go- to dog sitter for family and neighbors beginning around the time I was 10! In high-school, I volunteered at the Humane Society, doing kennel maintenance, dog walking, feeding, and play-time. I later performed these same duties in college when I worked as a kennel assistant in veterinary clinic that provided pet boarding. In this position, I was also required to administer medication and give baths. I went on to become a Special Education Teacher and acquired a facilty dog to be a part of my classroom. In order for this to happen, I was required to attend a 2-week intensive training at Canine Companions for Independence, where I learned a lot about dog behavior, care, and handling. I sustained a knee injury in 2024 that prevents me from rigorous walks, but I am certainly able to provide shorter, basic walks, playtime, and take care of all feeding, bathroom needs.
