Pet care experience

Love for dogs/pets of all sizes!

From Big Boofers like Bernese Mountain dogs to short-legged friends like Corgis, I love dogs/animals of all sizes. I have cared for special needs dogs e.g. with anxiety. I’ve been lucky to interact with and feed week-old puppies from a dog-trainer and breeder friend of mine, along with learning some basics on training, such as door entry behavior.

Highly recommend Heather to care for your pets! She has watched our dog and cat multiple times and I trust her fully. She is kind, caring, dependable, and loves animals. Her communication is consistent and clear, and she always sends many photos to keep us updated. In addition, Heather is extremely intelligent and always tuned in to the needs of the pets she is caring for. Would absolutely hire her again and recommend you do too!

Heather is not only my sister but one of my closest friends. She and I lived together for 5 years and in all of those years she took great care of my fur babies, Jasper and Tiger, both kitties. She would watch them for me in times I was on vacation or if I needed help feeding them after work. Heather has always had a passion for animals and we did not grow up with the ability to have any besides hamsters, this testimonial is to prove that her big heart is willing to do whatever it takes to keep any animal safe and cared for. While she now lives on her own and without my kitties in her care, volunteering through Rover gives her that furry love that she once had. I recommend Heather as a pet sitter to any and everyone, as she will treat them as her own.

Heather came over to watch my 2 cats while I was away on vacation and did an amazing job. She showed up when she said she would, listened to my instructions and provided company to my babies. She sent pictures of them cuddling on her as well which brought me comfort knowing they recieved love while we were gone. And she left everything as it was, which I appreciate as well. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, responsible sitter and I would book her again.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I primarily work from home, so I have fairly open availability! I can work remotely from your home so that I can spend time with your pets throughout the day, and be available for feedings, walks, attention/love, etc.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

I am cognizant and attuned to pets’ specific needs while being respectful of your time and home/space regarding your pet. I will wipe off paws and fur on muddy or wet days, and ensure that when I leave, your space is the same as when I arrived, all while giving your pet some extra love or space, playing to provide some excitement in their day, or giving treats on walks if consistency is difficult.

A typical day

Personally, I love walking and hiking, so I can take your pet to a nearby park, nature trail, or dog park, or we can happily take the same daily sidewalk route (I guess I might be a bit of a dog myself in that way). According to your space, we’ll have playtime inside and/or out to tire your pup out while keeping them engaged and feeling loved. Treats and peanut butter kongs are the name of the game, with lots of pets, cuddles, and lap time, even if your pup isn’t lap-sized :)

Please tell me about your pet’s comfort around other dogs/pets and humans, especially kids, and whether it’s ok to let strangers interact with your animal while out and about. It is helpful to know their favorite toys, and routines so I can keep your furry family member “on track” and regulated!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
