Safety, trust & environment

I am cognizant and attuned to pets’ specific needs while being respectful of your time and home/space regarding your pet. I will wipe off paws and fur on muddy or wet days, and ensure that when I leave, your space is the same as when I arrived, all while giving your pet some extra love or space, playing to provide some excitement in their day, or giving treats on walks if consistency is difficult.

Information Heather E. would like to know about your pet

Please tell me about your pet’s comfort around other dogs/pets and humans, especially kids, and whether it’s ok to let strangers interact with your animal while out and about. It is helpful to know their favorite toys, and routines so I can keep your furry family member “on track” and regulated!

A typical day

Personally, I love walking and hiking, so I can take your pet to a nearby park, nature trail, or dog park, or we can happily take the same daily sidewalk route (I guess I might be a bit of a dog myself in that way). According to your space, we’ll have playtime inside and/or out to tire your pup out while keeping them engaged and feeling loved. Treats and peanut butter kongs are the name of the game, with lots of pets, cuddles, and lap time, even if your pup isn’t lap-sized :)

Love for dogs/pets of all sizes!

Pet care experience

From Big Boofers like Bernese Mountain dogs to short-legged friends like Corgis, I love dogs/animals of all sizes. I have cared for special needs dogs e.g. with anxiety. I’ve been lucky to interact with and feed week-old puppies from a dog-trainer and breeder friend of mine, along with learning some basics on training, such as door entry behavior.

Heather was an incredible help as our official “pup wrangler” for our two dogs during a photo shoot. She was timely, respectful, and friendly with both us and our pups. Our request was somewhat of an unusual one, and she took everything in stride. Thank you so much Heather!!

Highly recommend Heather to care for your pets! She has watched our dog and cat multiple times and I trust her fully. She is kind, caring, dependable, and loves animals. Her communication is consistent and clear, and she always sends many photos to keep us updated. In addition, Heather is extremely intelligent and always tuned in to the needs of the pets she is caring for. Would absolutely hire her again and recommend you do too!
