Safety, trust & environment

🛡️ Safety, Trust, and Environment My goal is to create a safe, consistent, and joyful environment that replicates the comforts of your home, with the added benefit of full-time, expert supervision. 🏠 Our Home Environment (Roxborough Area Apartment) Constant Supervision: As I work from home full-time, your pet is never left unsupervised. This allows for immediate response to any behavioral or safety concerns. Safe & Comfortable Space: My apartment is fully dog-proofed to be safe for all sizes, particularly giant breeds like Marvin and Penny. While we are on the third floor, all stair access is carefully monitored. The living space is cleaned daily, and we use only pet-safe cleaning products. Consistency: I strictly adhere to your dog's specific feeding, medication, and sleep schedules to minimize stress and maintain behavioral consistency. Dog-Friendly Pack: My resident dogs, Marvin (OES) and Penny (OES/Bernese), are vetted, friendly, and social. They provide excellent, positive companionship, but rest periods are always respected. ✅ Safety & Trust Protocols Leash Security: All dogs are securely leashed before exiting the apartment door. Vaccination & Health Checks: I require proof of up-to-date vaccinations and will communicate immediately regarding any signs of illness or injury. Emergency Plan: I keep local veterinary emergency contact information readily accessible. In the event of a critical emergency, my local knowledge of the Roxborough/Littleton area ensures quick transport to the nearest animal hospital. Communication: I provide daily updates, photos, and videos so you can see your pet is happy, safe, and enjoying their stay. 🏞️ Active Care & External Safety (Chatfield) Safe Transport: Dogs are secured in harnesses and appropriate seatbelts/crates during the short drive to and from Chatfield Dog Park. Outdoor Monitoring: During our daily Chatfield trips, dogs are always under my direct visual supervision. I ensure appropriate play interactions and monitor for signs of overexertion or stress, particularly during warmer weather. 🤝 Flexibility & Dog Park Policy A Note on Our Daily Chatfield Trips: I understand that not every dog thrives in a large, off-leash environment like a dog park. If you do not feel comfortable with your dog attending the daily Chatfield trip, that is absolutely fine! We will ensure your dog receives a focused, structured neighborhood walk, or dedicated play/enrichment time instead. If you are just unsure about how your dog might handle the park, I encourage you to discuss any concerns with me. We can talk through ways to make the visit comfortable, such as limiting the time, staying in a quieter area, or using a muzzle (if applicable), to ensure a positive experience for your dog. Hydration: Water is always readily available both inside my home and on every park trip. I believe safety starts with constant attention and expert handling, which my full-time work-from-home schedule provides.

Information Heather D. would like to know about your pet

📋 Essential Information: Booking Requirements & Safety To ensure the safety, health, and comfort of your pet, Marvin, Penny, and myself, please provide the following details when inquiring about a booking. These requirements help guarantee a positive environment for all. 1. Temperament & Safety Requirements Socialization & Aggression History: Due to the communal nature of my home and the presence of my two social dogs, your dog must be both people-friendly and dog-friendly. I define unacceptable aggression as any behavior that has previously resulted in injury to a person or another dog. (We fully respect a dog's right to issue a verbal "correction" when uncomfortable, but physical injury is strictly prohibited.) Vaccinations: For the health of all pets, your dog must be fully up-to-date on all core vaccinations and necessary shots. Proof of current records will be required. 2. Health, Safety, & Emergency Veterinarian Information: In the unlikely event of a medical emergency, please provide the name, address, and phone number of your regular veterinarian. Food Aggression: Please confirm whether your dog has any history of resource or food aggression. Since Marvin and Penny are NOT food aggressive, I prioritize safety and will separate all dogs during feeding times if your dog displays any food possessiveness. 3. Home Environment & Logistics Stair Navigation (Crucial): I live in a 3rd-floor apartment with NO elevator. Your dog must be absolutely safe and comfortable slowly navigating stairs. I can comfortably carry dogs 15 lbs and under without issue. However, dogs over 15 lbs that are blind, significantly elderly, or have severe mobility issues may regrettably not be a suitable fit for my location. Potty Training Status: If your dog is not reliably potty trained, they must be crate trained, and you will be required to provide the appropriate travel crate for their stay. I have ample space for any size crate. 4. Activities & Consent Dog Park Comfort: Our daily routine includes a fantastic trip to Chatfield Dog Park. Please explicitly state whether you are comfortable with your dog participating in this daily activity. (As noted elsewhere, if you are unsure or prefer they not attend, that is completely fine; we will offer alternative exercise.) Bath Policy: As we frequent Chatfield, there is always the potential for mud! Please let me know how your dog feels about baths. Should they roll in the mud or get overly dirty, I will need consent to provide a quick, necessary wash for their comfort and cleanliness.

A typical day

🐕 A Day of Fun & Enrichment A typical day with Marvin, Penny, and me is structured around routine, safety, and making sure every moment is fun and engaging, whether we're on the trails or enjoying quiet time at home. ☀️ Morning Enrichment (6:30 AM - 1:00 PM) Cozy Companionship: Since I work from home, the morning is dedicated to constant companionship. Your dog will spend the morning close by, enjoying the quiet energy of the house. Mental Games: We keep things interesting with indoor fun, including puzzle toys (owner provided) and basic command practice to reinforce good manners and tire out their brains. Socializing: Your dog will have supervised, positive playtime with Marvin and Penny, tailored to their energy levels. 🏞️ Afternoon Adventure (around 3:30 PM) The Chatfield Adventure: The highlight of the afternoon is our daily trip to Chatfield Dog Park (leaving around 3:30 PM!) This timing allows for a big energy burn before the evening wind-down. I focus on positive interaction, monitoring play groups closely, and ensuring adequate hydration and rest breaks. Individual Attention: For dogs who prefer not to attend the park, they will enjoy a focused, structured neighborhood walk or dedicated one-on-one playtime in the late afternoon instead. ✨ Evening Care & Specialized Fun Grooming & TLC: After our outdoor fun, we have a quiet period. If your dog requires daily brushing (especially for double-coated breeds like Marvin and Penny), this is when we focus on it—making it a relaxed, positive experience with lots of praise. Cuddle Time: The evening is dedicated to wind-down. We enjoy supervised chew time, soft music, and plenty of cuddles and belly rubs on the couch before the final potty break. It’s all about creating a feeling of home and security. Your dog will return home happy, well-exercised, and thoroughly pampered!

🏡 Meet Your Dog's Home Away From Home! Hi, I'm Heather, and I work from home full-time, giving me the unique ability to offer constant, attentive supervision of your pup. My home is already full of love, thanks to my resident doggos: Marvin (a friendly Old English Sheepdog) and Penny (a gentle Old English Sheepdog and Bernese Mountain Dog mix). They are social butterflies who adore making friends of all shapes, sizes, and breeds! 🐾 The Roxborough Adventure While we live in a 3rd-floor apartment, we believe in maximizing outdoor time and fun! Daily Chatfield Trips: We are approximately 6 miles from Chatfield Dog Park, and we make daily trips there. Your dog will enjoy endless roaming, socializing, and play potential in this massive, secure area. They'll come home happily tired! Active Fun: This means your pup gets high-quality exercise and mental stimulation every single day, perfect for high-energy breeds and dogs who thrive in an active pack. ✨ What Sets Me Apart I am capable of catering to a wide variety of breeds, ages, and personality types. My experience as a full-time dog mom to Marvin (an Old English Sheepdog) has given me key specializations: Grooming Expertise: I have a thorough understanding of the importance of daily grooming needs. If your long-haired or high-shedding dog requires daily brushing, ear cleaning, or quick touch-ups, that is absolutely no problem and will be included in their stay. 💖 The Next Step I would love to be your dog's happy home away from home! Please send me a message with a few details about your dog (age, breed, typical routine, and required dates), and let's set up a time for a Meet & Greet to ensure we're the perfect fit.
