Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because my partner and I already spend a lot of time caring for and spending quality time with our own cat. We both genuinely enjoy being around animals and making them feel comfortable, loved, and part of the family. We also love going on long walks after work each day, so having a dog companion along with us would fit perfectly into our routine and lifestyle. On weekends, we have even more flexibility and time to dedicate to walks, playtime, cuddles, and attentive pet care. We understand how important consistency and attention are when caring for pets, and we’re happy to follow each pet’s usual routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away.

I always try to care for pets in a way that keeps them as comfortable and stress-free as possible by following their normal routine closely. I pay attention to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, litter box or potty routines, and any specific instructions their owner provides. In a client’s home, I understand that pets feel safest in their familiar environment, so I aim to maintain their routine and give them plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while their owner is away. Before caring for a pet, I think it’s very important to know their normal routine, personality, energy level, and any special needs or preferences they may have. I like knowing details such as feeding schedules, favorite activities, medications, comfort items, bathroom/litter routines, and how they typically interact with new people. I also appreciate knowing if a pet is shy, anxious, reactive, very social, or has anything specific that helps them feel comfortable and safe. Every pet is different, and I always want to make sure I’m caring for them in the way that works best for them.
A typical day
I love adjusting activities based on each pet’s personality and energy level! For dogs, I enjoy long walks, playtime, fetch, exploring new walking routes, and giving them plenty of attention and exercise throughout the day. My partner and I already enjoy going on long walks after work, so having a dog join us would fit naturally into our routine. For cats, I love interactive play with toys, wand teasers, laser pointers, treats, brushing, cuddle time, and simply keeping them company. I also know some cats prefer relaxing nearby instead of active play, and I’m just as happy spending time with the lounge cats who want a calm companion and cozy naps.

Hi! I'm Heather, and I'd love to care for your pets while you're away! I've been an animal lover my whole life. Growing up, I had a cat, a guinea pig, and an English Mastiff, which gave me experience with pets of all sizes and personalities. One of my favorite parts of pet sitting is getting to know each pet's unique personality—whether they're playful, shy, energetic, cuddly, or independent. Every pet is different, and I enjoy earning their trust and making them feel comfortable while their family is away. I know how important it is to have someone reliable caring for your pets because they truly are part of the family. I provide attentive care, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, potty breaks, medication (if needed and discussed), and plenty of affection. I especially love taking dogs on long walks and making sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I also believe in keeping pet parents updated, so you can expect lots of photos, videos, and messages during each visit. My goal is for you to feel confident that your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for. My schedule is flexible! I work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays, making me available throughout much of the day. I'm also generally available on Saturdays and Sundays. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, I'm available before 8:00 a.m. and after 5:10 p.m. If you're located near Scott's Addition, I may also be able to stop by during my lunch break. I have reliable transportation and am happy to travel to your home. I'm also more than happy to bring in mail, water plants, and help keep your home looking lived-in while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members!

Heather was awesome for the 30 min walk I arranged. She was right on time, has great communication, and pleasantly easy to work with. Even though my pup didn’t wanna go on the full 30 min walk, she stayed and hung out with him for the remaining 10 minutes instead of leaving early which was very appreciated! 10/10 would recommend and I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again in the future!
Heather was wonderful! Flexible with my rather unusual schedule and terrific with the dogs. Look forward to hiring her again!
Heather was great with my dog. He’s loves people and she was good for him. Took him for a long walk to let him check out his favorite pee spots. Will definitely use her sgain.
Heather did a fantastic job watching our dog Rocco at our home! She gave us daily updates (with pictures!!) and was very tidy!
