My family is a never-less-than-one-dog family. Moving to my college dorms was a big change, and living there all four years shot my desperation for some puppy love through the roof. Now, I'm living here in Maryland, interning in DC, and so, *so* close to being able to adopt a fluffy friend of my own - but I'm just not financially ready. It's the responsible choice, but I would love the chance to help care for your dog to help me stick it out. In high school and beyond, I've done a fair amount of pet sitting to earn some extra cash. After one rough babysitting night that included watching "Chicken Little" four times in a row, I decided it wasn't for me and put all my eggs in the pet-sitting basket. I've cared for cats, fish, bunnies, a rat with lung cancer, puppies, and more dogs than I can count. I'll always have a particular soft-spot for older dogs. My family has almost always adopted, so most of the dogs I've loved I never knew other than as their old, loving, ornery selves. Although I do work long hours during the week, I can do a once a day trip in the evenings and am very free on the weekends. And I love any excuse for a good walk.
