Pet sitting and dog walking is my full-time profession. During the week I have a handful of regular clients that occupy my time typically from 10 am to 2 pm. My weekends are mostly free and I am home every evening unless house sitting - in that case, my husband is home every evening from 6 pm to 7:30 am. I am always 30 minutes or less from my home and even during house sitting stays, I am coming home to check in on and provide company to my own two pups. They're never alone for more than four hours. Currently, my family is growing, and my house sits will be on a temporary hiatus as my husband and I adjust to having a tiny human in the house.

My home has a moderate size yard that is fully fenced. I also have a doggy door that leads to the backyard for full access when someone is home. As I have cats and small caged critters, I do prefer boarding stays to be crate trained. My own dogs are crate trained and absolutely love their "box." It is their safe space for when life or other dogs becoming too overwhelming. In my experience, I have found that bringing your dog's crate (along with some beds and blankets) helps your dog have their own safe space to relax or retreat to when needed. It also keeps everyone safe while I am out tending to regular walking clients. When house sitting I try my best to keep to your dog's typical routine. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Crate when leaving, or close bedroom doors. Walks around the neighborhood or play in the backyard. Not allowed on furniture, sleeping in bed with you, etc. Please let me know what your furry friend is accustomed to! Please keep in mind that I will not be able to stay in your home 24/7 as I have regular clients during the week that I need to walk. I will be able to stay in your home through the entire night with regular afternoon potty breaks.

Information Heather C. would like to know about your pet

You've got dog-specific traits, breed-specific traits, and then individual personality quirks. I wanna know your dog's quirks. Every dog is a "good dog." I know that much, tell me more! Do they like mornings? Are they a night-owl? What's their favorite toy? Do they hate the neighbor cat down the street? If so, then why? Are they an NPR fan or do they prefer jazz? I want to feel like your dog is part of my pack! Preferences? Not really. I lovelovelove brachycephalic breeds, but all dogs are amazing to me!

A typical day

I love to hike and explore. If your dog(s) need more than just a jaunt around the block - I'd love to have a trail buddy to explore nature and the outdoors! However, I find that lazy days can also be fantastic, so if you've got a couch potato I'm more than happy to loaf alongside your canine compadre! Oh, I almost forgot! Pet photography is one of my hobbies!! So, please don't mind when I bombard you with pics of your pooch!!

Pet care experience

Hello there, helpful Heather here! I am the only child of a 3rd generation Pug breeder. I’ve never lived a day without a Pug by my side - Pugs are my life! That being said, I may be a bit socially awkward on the human end of things, but your dog and I will be fast friends! Guaranteed. While I am happy to help with the occasional sitting need what I am looking for is to be an extension of your furry family. If you're reading this, then it's obvious you're looking for more than just a sitter or walker. You're looking for a nanny to help care for your furry children, and I am the exact fit for that. Our pets do best with familiarity, especially during stressful times such as travel. Though by themselves my services are stellar with familiarity they become unprecedented. This can be especially useful for senior care or for younger dogs who may require consistency for training - Walking on a Leash is a good example. The bottom line: I will love your pet(s) as though they were my own. My proficiency expands far beyond flat-faced breeds, don't worry! I am very familiar with many breeds of dogs: Australian Shepard (which, did you know is an American breed? Fun fact!) Basenji, Chihuahua, Corgi, any type of Doodle, Labrador, Pitties, Poodles (from standard to teacup), Yorkshire Terrier. And so many more!! Where did all this experience come from?! From not only love and a pawsome passion for animals, but from dog training as well. If you have certain goals you'd like to keep in practice, rest assured I’ve got the canine competence to assist you with your consistent training needs while you're away from home. Or, should you have any questions in regards to any undesirable doggy behaviors I'd be happy to assist and educate! I have an attachment for senior and special needs dogs. I must admit that while I adore dogs of all ages, there will always be a special place in my heart for the elderly. If your dog(s) need extra care or medications given to them with specific directions, rest assured I am fully capable and willing of doing whatever your senior or special needs dog(s) may require for their proper care. So, if you're looking for reliable, knowledgeable, and devoted pet assistance, I'm the sitter for you! Well, for your furry friend(s), that is. :) ►►If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!☺ ♥Thank you♥

Heather was great. It’s been a couple years since we had her do a drop in for Hazel and we got the same great service we got last time. She even brought in our package from outside. We appreciate you dropping in on our sweet girl.
