I've recently reopened my Rover profile after taking some time away, but I've spent the last 25 years working with animals in a variety of professional settings. I've worked as a dog trainer, groomer, veterinary assistant, pet sitter, and in boarding and daycare facilities. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or needs medications, I'm committed to providing safe, reliable, compassionate care and keeping you updated while you're away.

Porkchop thoroughly enjoyed ringing in the new year with Heather and Louis. Heather is very responsive and good about sending updates and photos. The drop-off upon my return was a godsend. Louis was a great new partner in muddy crime for Porkchop to get his energy out and his appetite up (sometimes not an easy task when I am away). Will definitely book again.
Took great care of my pup! He was tired when I picked him up so that was a great plus. Will be using heather again:)
Heather is amazing! I could tell from the very start that she knew a lot about animal behavior and that her dog, Louie, would be a good fit for my Willow. Heather was extremely accommodating, as far as asking if Willow needed any meals, and also with regard to ensuring Willow had her treats over the course of the day. I would absolutely, unequivocally recommend Heather for doggie daycare!

Schedule
Pet care is a central part of my daily life, not something I squeeze in around other commitments. When caring for your pet, I strive to keep their experience as consistent and stress-free as possible. Whether they're staying in my home or I'm caring for them in yours, I pay close attention to their individual needs, preferences, and comfort level. My home is dog-friendly, with a secure fenced yard and dog door access. Pets staying with me are welcome on the furniture and bed if that is allowed in their home, though I'm happy to follow any household rules you prefer. When providing drop-in visits or house sitting, I treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. I am dependable, detail-oriented, and mindful of both your pets' well-being and the security of your property. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing that your pets and home are in capable hands.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always my top priority. With more than 25 years of animal care experience, I am comfortable recognizing stress signals, managing introductions between animals, administering medications, and adapting care to each pet's individual needs and temperament. My household includes two friendly resident dogs. Because every animal is different, I carefully assess compatibility and can separate pets when needed to ensure everyone remains comfortable and safe. For boarding, I only accept dogs that are well-socialized and have no history of aggression toward other animals. I have experience caring for a wide variety of animals beyond dogs and cats, including horses, goats, sheep, poultry, birds, reptiles, guinea pigs, and other small animals. I am happy to care for multi-pet households and can also help with plants, gardens, and other basic home-care tasks while you're away.

A typical day
Every pet is different, so I try to tailor their day to their personality, energy level, and preferences. Active dogs may enjoy playtime in the fenced yard, walks in the woods, supervised creek adventures, and social time with compatible canine friends. For pets who prefer a slower pace, I'm equally happy to provide plenty of affection, companionship, and relaxation. Whether your dog loves to explore, play fetch, wrestle with friends, or simply curl up on the couch for a Netflix marathon, I want to make them feel comfortable, engaged, and at home while you're away.
