About Heather B.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
The majority of my experience comes from animals that are sick, scared or just arriving to a shelter. I am a calm and patient person and I am happy to give your pets as much time as they need to get comfortable, but I won't give up on them or push their boundaries. Trust and respect are the most important part of my pet sitting relationship
Information Heather B. would like to know about your pet
It's important for me to know if there is anything special about your pets care. If they have any medical needs or specific times of day they will be needing a visit. I usually like to know what their nicknames are and where they like to sit with their people. What they're favorite toys are and any safety concerns I should be aware of (door bolting, rough play, etc).
A typical day
I usually start my visit by making sure I have eyes on each pet in the house. I greet everyone and give lots of sweet talk and pets. I usually then put out food or treats while I start about cleaning tasks (cleaning/topping off litter, changing waters, checking plants, etc). Afterward I try to focus time on enrichment...this can take many forms and depends on what your pet likes best! Some of my clients have me take their cat out on a harness, we do a lot of bird watching, time in catios, wand play, laser pointers, fetch, brushing, treat puzzles, etc. I'm happy to do whatever makes your pet happiest! I try to go based on their energy level on each given day and see what if they need more love, attention, play or anything else!

Friend & Lover of Sensitive Cats!
Pet care experience
I've always been an animal lover and knew that they would always play an important role in my life. I graduated college with a degree in Animal Science & Nutrition and worked in a veterinary hospital where I managed the kennel of boarded and inpatient animals, as well as trained as a veterinary nurse. I also at that time started my first pet sitting business and learned to train service dogs. Since then, I have worked as a professional dog walker and pet nutrition consultant. I took a stint in the corporate world, but I'm back to doing what I love. I now spend my days working with cats at Cat Adoption Team as a member of the Behavior Modification team, helping cats who need some extra love while they wait for their forever homes. Because of this, I have a particular fondness for the harder-to-win-over animal friends. You can also find me at the Bird Alliance of Oregon, Wildlife Care Center, caring for hospitalized patients and wrangling wildlife! I truly love working with all animals; big, small, lovable, and those needing a gentle hand. I know all the worries that run through pet owners heads while they are away because I have the same ones when I go away! My pets are my life and I know how much they mean to you. My goal is to ease all of those worries and treat your pet as I would my own. I am comfortable giving medications, supplements, and injections and I know what looks normal and when something requires extra attention because of my veterinary knowledge. I will give your pets the best love, understanding, and playtime I can.
