My normal routine is after a good night's sleep (sometimes) because as we all know our pets do not like being on their own, I have to admit some of my dogs have managed to climb upstairs and snuggle under the duvet. After breakfast we go for a walk over the heath which the dogs love and come back home for a doggy siesta. I have looked after dogs and home boarded them for a long time and they treat me as a second mum.

We must not forget our dinner "Happy Chappies" which can be supplied by the owner, which we relish after a busy day and have a full tummy ready for bed. At bedtime, which is around the time we all go to bed, the dogs have biscuits and cuddles and sleep peacefully having happy dreams.

Pet care experience

I have a dog friendly house and have home boarded dogs for over 20 years. I used to own a kennels and cattery but turned the kennels into home boarding bedrooms as I hated the prospect of my dogs being locked up. I am checked out by the local council inspector every year in order to hold my licence and I am fully insured for my pets staying with me.

Hazel and her husband are obviously great dog lovers as demonstrated by the fact that their furniture has been chosen to withstand their guests' antics. My terrier is very lively but they coped with him very well. They kept me updated with reports and photos of him and his new friend thoroughly enjoying themselves despite what looked like a very heavy frost. Living in a household with other dogs was a very good experience for him.

From the moment we met Hazel, we felt completely comfortable leaving Mabel with her. She clearly loves dogs and takes such great care of her own, who are lovely. We knew Mabel would be able to relax during her stay, which was so important to us as she can be a bit nervous. Thank you Hazel and Brian!

Hazel's knowledge and understanding of caring for different dog breeds was a strong factor in our choice of dog sitter. She asked lots of questions about Teddy's likes and dislikes which also reassured us that he would be well cared for. We were kept up to date and sent pics of him settling in. We were happy with the care provided.
