💕 Loving Pet Friend & Guardian 💕

Hi I'm Hartley! I have loved and tended to pets and wildlife since I was a child. The Hawaiian word 'kāhu' resonates with me--because I have a deep, spiritual connection and sense of responsibility for our precious animals. I cherish our pups, Lady (6yo, Border Collie) and Mickey (9yo, Maltese). I'm very patient and understand the importance of structure and routine in pets' daily lives. I'm not a certified dog trainer, but I'm practiced in basic training for dogs of all ages. I use a reward-based approach for almost everything: practicing basic commands, utilizing proper leash technique, and socializing dogs with other pets, new people, and children. I’m also experienced with caring for cats, bunnies, rodents, fish, birds, and turtles. I am a freelancer with a flexible schedule, and I get to spend most of my time working from home or remotely. It would be an honor and a joy to be a kāhu for your beloved pet!

HOUSE SITTING: I cherish my pups, and our home is our sanctuary. I will take care of your little ones and your home with the same care that I give my own! I enjoy tending to pets, watering plants, and keeping homes spotless. I’ll take the time to learn your specific needs because I want to make sure you’ve got peace of mind that your home is in loving, experienced hands. DAYCARE: My home is in beautiful Oak Hill, where walking the dogs is safe and easy. I have a grassy backyard with a covered deck, and plenty of space for the dogs to explore. The interior of the house has a small, simple layout with an open play/training zone in the living room. I have crates ready for private denning. I frequently take my dogs to South Austin parks: Longview Park/Stephenson Preserve, Onion Creek Dog Park, Circle C Ranch Metro Park, Mary Moore Searight Offleash Area, and Sunset Valley Nature Area.

Hartley has watched our dogs on three separate occasions now. She recently looked after them during our longest trip away from home in several years. Absolutely no issues or concerns with the pups through the whole trip. If you want peace of mind when leaving your beloved pets for a long stay, Hartley is the perfect choice.

As long as she is available, we will ALWAYS book with Hartley. Our dogs have never been so happy and well cared for. And we have never had such peace of mind while we are away.

Hartley was an absolute joy. We had a sitter fall through (no major issue, just life stuff. Super understandable), and it left us with very little time to find a replacement before our trip. Hartley was responsive and eager to watch our dogs during our break, and she did an incredible job. The dogs were well taken care of, and she kept us informed about their day-to-day tasks. We would highly recommend if you need a sitter.

Hartley house sat for us while we were out of state for a week and several time zones away. She did a phenomenal job making our dogs feel at home in their normal routines. In the pictures and videos that she sent us, it was very very clear that our dogs were so happy and so very well cared for. This was also apparent in Hartley’s at least daily updates about how things were going. She is an excellent and responsive communicator. Hartley truly went above and beyond caring for our dogs and our home, she was incredibly observant of our dogs’ behaviors and tendencies which a nervous/anxious dog mom who’s thousands of miles away can TOTALLY appreciate. Thank you Hartley!!
