I have been working from home full-time since Jan 2023, so I am around most of the time for plenty of walks, playing, cuddling - you name it! On the odd occasion when I'm not here my partner is usually available and is equally capable and adoring of both dogs and cats, so they are very rarely left without company :)

I usually take only one booking at a time, sometimes two (if they are compatible), so you can be assured that your pooch/kitty will have my undivided attention during his/her stay and won't be competing with six other dogs/cats - having said that, there will be plenty of trips to the park for socialising if that's what they're into :)

Information Harry H. would like to know about your pet
It's useful to know if your dog is territorial, as some dogs can be a bit disturbed by my neighbours coming in and out - if so I can make sure to keep them in a separate room away from the main door if I hear them coming! Also useful to know if they are friendly with other dogs, as well as the obvious such as feeding and walking schedule and what their general temperament is. Another useful thing to know is whether they can be left alone for short periods - we try not to make a habit of leaving them alone for long as it doesn't seem fair, but on the odd occasion we might both need to pop out for an hour or two so it's good to know that this won't cause too much distress!
A typical day
I'm (relatively) young and energetic, so if you have a high-energy dog then he/she can look forward to a great deal of play and exercise (I'm very playful myself, most dogs love it when I get down on the floor with them and play). I love taking dogs to any of the big local parks where they can be let loose and stretch their legs. Equally though I'm just as happy to go for a casual stroll if your dog is more senior or not quite as energetic, so it's a win-win for me.

Pet care experience
Hello, My name's Harry, I'm 32 and I recently relocated to the N8/N6/N19 area from Stoke Newington. I’m mad about dogs and love spending time with them whether it's walking, sitting, or my favourite - playing fetch :D. Unfortunately I don't have much space or money for a dog of my own just yet but in the meantime I’d be over the moon to spend some time taking care of yours. And you can rest assured that he/she is in safe hands - I have lots of experience with pets, my family having owned several dogs in the past (ranging from big English bull terriers to little Maltese terriers!), and I regularly board my mum's three dogs who my partner and I adore. I'm hoping to go full-time with this, so daycare and boarding is available pretty much 24/7 and so are walks and drop-in visits. I live with my partner who is also home most of the time, so there's usually two of us here to share caring duties (she's a dog lover too!). Before joining Rover in 2020 I house-sat for a week with a gorgeous old Staffie called Winston, who had bundles of energy for a 13-year-old and was a fellow fetch aficionado, as well as a stick-and-ball demolitions expert. After staying with him I decided I'd quite like to do this more often, and if your dog loves fetch then I'm definitely your man! I can throw sticks and balls till the cows come home :D. Since then I have boarded dozens of dogs over the past few years and I'm at the point now where I'd love to do this full-time. At this point I have developed a strong understanding of dogs and their behaviours, and have proven to be a reliable and trustworthy sitter. I will also be looking to add doggy first aid to my repertoire in the near future! Thank you for considering me, I look forward to meeting you :) Extra note: discount automatically applied for stays of 5 nights or more, happy to negotiate a further discount for stays of 10 nights or more. Also happy to offer a discounted rate for repeat bookings :)

Reviews

Harry was an impeccably patient and professional dog-sitter during our week away, helping keep our anxious dog company and making him as comfortable as possible in our absence. He updated us regularly on Woolly's well-being and our home was in spotless condition when we returned. We will definitely be asking him to dogsit again in the future!

Harry is a great dog sitter! I left my very energetic and anxiously attached Cocker Spaniel, Sunny, with him for the day, and I know how challenging Sunny can be at times — but Harry managed everything so well. He took Sunny out for a long walk to help release some of that energy and sent me updates and pictures throughout the day, which I really appreciated. What stood out the most was Harry’s excellent communication and kindness. He kept me informed, was very understanding, and clearly cared about Sunny’s comfort. I would definitely recommend trusting your dog with Harry — they’ll have lots of fun and be very well taken care of!

Harry is very attentive and communicative when looking after Grace.

Ramón was very happy with his walk, thank you!
