I hired Harrison for housesitting for one night for my adult dog and puppy, with extended time in the evening the following day as he would need to leave for work around 8 am. I asked to meet with him in advance so the dogs could meet him and he could get to know them and the house. He seemed professional and kind. My dogs are relatively easy to care for but my puppy needs extra supervision and my adult dog needs to go on walks to go potty. My biggest concern was them just being lonely as they like company. I was clear about a specific approximate walk time on the arrival day because my family member who had been housesitting would have taken them for a walk in the morning/early afternoon. The walk time (6pm) was around 4 hours after he was supposed to arrive and in the meantime, I expected the puppy (who is not fully potty-trained) would be let out for potty in the backyard. Harrison let me know in advance the day-of that he would be slightly late, and let me know the latest he would be there was about half an hour after the original time, which was fine. However, he failed to show up until 3.5 hours after the original time without communication. We have a doorbell camera which is in a prominent place by the door and not hidden. When I checked in with him at the 3 hour mark, he didn’t respond for another half hour — which was when he finally did arrive at the house and his message back to me implied that he had been there for a while and that he just forgot to hit send on his response. I understand sometimes things happen and was just glad he was finally there. He also entered the house with a stranger who I do not know and assume is his partner. I didn’t explicitly say not to bring anyone to the house but it is my assumption that a professional would not bring a stranger to my house without permission or notice. After exactly 15 minutes (5:45pm), both left. I thought since he was clearly running very late, he was dropping the other person off at home and grabbing his overnight gear. After about 40 minutes I asked how things were going. 20 minutes later he said things were going great, he had to step out for errands, and that none of his messages were going through — implying that the service at my house is bad and the reason why I hadn’t heard much from him. The service IS bad at my house, which is why the wifi password was provided. But he wasn’t there anyway. He said the dogs had been fed and had some good time playing outside. The time he finally arrived was when I requested a walk, which didn’t happen. So I’m assuming my adult dog didn’t go pee and she absolutely didn’t have the opportunity to poop. She has also been having a hard time eating in our absence. It is possible she both ate and went potty in the yard AND played but highly unlikely in the span of 15 minutes. The puppy is notorious for eating her sister’s food so at this point I’m assuming that’s what occurred if the food was just left there. I probed for more information about the adult dog eating but he didn’t share additional details. At 8:30, he was still absent and I had not heard anything else. I asked him for photos and got no response. At this point I asked the neighbor to go see if the key was left in its spot so that someone else could help out. Unfortunately he did not leave the key behind. Luckily the family member who had been staying the prior night had made a key that day but unfortunately lives an hour away. When we still hadn’t heard anything from him at 9:30, our family member said she would drive back over and spend the night. At 9:50 we asked Harrison to please return the key and leave. Four minutes later, the most prompt response from him, he says he was just having dinner with his partner and back on the way to the house anyway. He said he wasn’t sure why the service was so bad around our house! Harrison, you weren’t at the house. When he dropped the key, our kind neighbor was able to go in and let the pups out before our family member arrived at 11pm and finally took the dogs for a walk. We then also had to find coverage for Monday evening and our kind friend who was originally going to come by for just a couple hours on Monday agreed to stay from 11am-9pm and we came home at midnight. This was a 15 minute visit over the span of 8 hours before we asked him not to come back (7.5 if we want to be generous with the announced late arrival time). This is unacceptable for even a drop-in visit. I’m not just paying for you to sleep at my house with no interaction with the dogs. Even if Harrison has a different perspective of what “housesitting” is, he was intentionally deceitful, arrived extremely late, didn’t follow instructions, was not prompt with communication, and invited a stranger into the house. Harrison caused myself and my partner an outrageous amount of anxiety and stress while we were multiple states away. He should not be trusted to watch any animal requiring attention or special instructions beyond “show up at some point and feed them.” I’m so embarrassed to have trusted him to watch our pets.

Harry was great with our two needy dogs, taking them on big walks and mindful of their habits. Somehow left the house cleaner than we left it after a night! Would hire again!

Harry was fantastic with my dog Lo (Loki)! He was on time, brought his own treats and had such a good and welcoming energy when he came in, my worries were instantly put at ease. Would 100% recommend.

Harry is my go to when I need someone to watch my dog. He’s great with animals, reliable, and easy to work with. I always know my dog is in good hands with him. Highly recommend!

Harry has been caring for dogs all his life. He provides such love and safety for them. If I were ever to be put in a pickle and needed some help caring for my dog. Harry would be the first person I’d reach out to! Highly recommend Harry as a pet care taker!!

I’ve know Harrison for about 15 years and have watched him love and care for many animals including his current dog Duke. He is a very kind, trustworthy and loyal person who will take care of any pet like they are his own.
