Pups on a Country Farm Vacation
Update: Based in Bellingham Washington, currently looking to board/housesit for aniamals in Bellingham. I am a full time dog trainer and animal caretaker. I am also available for hire for canine training. I am in the process of receiving my national professional degree for Large and Small Animal Accupressure. I am also available for hire on the northern coast of Oregon, available for animal sitting in-home. Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up caring for neighborhood pups, giving them daily walks and love which fueled my admiration for them. I love spending time with animals because of how much we learn from each other. I spent summers working on a farm where I learned to work with all animals - great and small. From draft horses to cattle to chinchillas to fish to llamas to birds and bunny rabbits - I have worked with many types of animals. With dogs, I have cared for and train dogs from dachshunds to Great Pyrenees and so many breeds in between. I have worked with animals for over 15 years time as a caretaker. I volunteer at an animal shelter where I get to work with lots of different breeds. I have experience working with dogs which need a little bit of extra help on their manners or that have come from an abusive situation, creating a calm and trusting atmosphere for them where they can thrive. I find that not just do I love spending time with animals but that I grow as a person working with them. I am also available for pet sitting of animals other then dogs, as well. So please, go on your next vacation with your mind at ease, knowing your pets are well cared for and are on a vacation of their very own at our beautiful farm in northern Bellingham, complete with acerage, rolling fields and plenty of room to run and play. Harper is absolutely wonderful! Harper watched our spunky lab for a few weeks over the holidays and she was exceptionally well cared for. We loved the clear communication, regular updates, and cute photos. It was obvious that Langley was having the time of her life on Harper's farm. We'll definitely be booking with Harper again soon.
Harper was great! She took was responsive, took great care of our dogs, and provided regular updates. Would definitely book with her again.

Harper was scheduled to meet us at our hotel to pickup our dog. She did not show up, didn’t respond to messages, and didn’t answer our calls. We canceled, got a refund, and booked with a different sitter. The time delay that occurred in trying to find and arrange a new sitter ate up our only afternoon. I’m disabled and am rarely physically capable of traveling, so it was very sad to miss out on our only vacation afternoon. The last time I was physically able to travel for a weekend away was almost a year ago. I don’t recommend this sitter.

I want to preface that Harper was very sweet when she picked up and dropped off Bowie and some of this might have been being busy, but since she was $30-40 more a night than other people I guess I just expected a little more? We were unable to meet before for a quick meet and greet (some of this due to our conflicting schedules). Not as big of a deal due to the great reviews, but then she picked up Bowie instead of me being able to drop him off, so I wasn’t able to get a feel of how he felt around her or the environment he would stay in. Bowie is the sweetest, but can be nervous to begin and has separation anxiety. I was hoping to get a couple quick updates to assure me he was having fun, but updates were minimal. For 2.5 days, I received 2 updates in total, but only after asking. I received 2 photos the day I would be picking him up (after asking the day before). She had an appointment, so she said she would drop him off instead of me picking him up, but it was also 3 hours after the initial time I had added to my booking. I would love to provide more stars, but with the lack of communication, I never got to see if Bowie was comfortable and having fun.

I love to take dogs to the beach or hiking in the woods! Wandering around our property, exploring trails, playing ball and swimming at the beach.
