Father of children and pets

Pet care experience

I have had many pets throughout my life. I most recently had a Newfoundland dog. He was a huge part of my daily routine, and a huge part in the family as well. My daughter, Laura, started using rover as a way to bring back the joy of taking care of animals. I adored all of the sweet pets that we took care of. Now that she has gone to college, I am missing pets, and wanted to start pet sitting myself. My newfoundland had many health issues throughout his life. I am comfortable administering or giving any medicine because of this. I have also had bunnies and taken care of many cats. I believe that animals are like children sometimes, and are a very important part of the family. I will treat them as such, with so much care.

Harold was wonderful! My dog, Bailey, seemed happy and at ease during her stay. I really appreciated all the updates and photos sent during my time away. I already plan to book again as my dog seemed to do so well with him!

Harold was absolutely the best decision I have ever made about my dog. Hans is our little old man who is never left alone and likes to be with his people but not other dogs. Harold had Hans with him all the time. He sent us lot of pictures. Hans is back home now and does not seem the least bit traumatized or upset. We will absolutely use Harold again if the occasion arises! He was wonderful!

Harold was so great!! Had a last minute need for some help with my pup, and so glad I chose Harold! Extremely accommodating for my GSP after a move from VA to BHM. Wasn’t ideal but Harold gave me the peace of mind (and CONSTANT updates) that helped me and my dog transition a semi-cross county move. 10/10 recommend.

Safety, trust & environment

I usually wake up early and start my day by taking a moment outside and then beginning work. Whenever I am petsitting, I create a routine around the pet's routine. For the first few hours I will monitor them, make sure they know where I have put their beds, food bowls, where the door to outside is, etc. After they seem to have settled, since I work from home, I will then begin working and also keeping an eye on them. Once I'm done with work, I love having more nights with pets and taking them out on walks or to play fetch. When Im cat-sitting, I usually love to observe them because they almost always have silly behavior, and I love giving them cuddles as well. If your pet is not okay with lots of cuddles, I will of course respect that.

I work from home, and have plenty of time to care for your pets and give them lots of cuddles and attention. I am available for boarding any day of the week. I can send plenty of pet pictures. Since I work from home, your pet is very likely to not be left alone in my home. Your pet is allowed anywhere in my home. I will provide similar care that they receive in your home, and I will follow the rules they have in your home as well (ex: if not allowed on bed).
