Safe Loving Care with Dog First Aid

I provide loving, attentive care for dogs and cats in a quiet upscale neighborhood with a large fenced backyard, nearby parks, and wooded trails. Dog First Aid & CPR certified with over 20 years of hands-on experience, I ensure every pet feels safe, happy, and truly at home. Over the years, I have cared for dogs, cats, and a variety of small animals — including chinchillas, hamsters, rabbits, and turtles — tailoring my approach to each pet’s personality, age, and individual needs. Whether keeping up with a high-energy puppy, providing calm, gentle support for senior dogs, or attending to small pets with special requirements, I ensure pets receive attentive, loving care. My First Aid training allows me to recognize early signs of distress and respond appropriately, giving pet parents added peace of mind. What sets me apart is my commitment to treating every pet as if they were part of my own family. Beyond feeding and walks, I focus on comfort, enrichment, and one-on-one attention, creating a safe, relaxed environment where pets feel secure, cared for, and truly at home. I also have a passion for pet photography and enjoy capturing special moments with dogs. If your pup is comfortable in front of the camera, I’m happy to take a few natural or studio-style portraits during their stay so you can have a fun keepsake of their time here.

We used Hao for both all-day recurring scheduled day care and boarding while I had a medical procedure done. Hao and his family made Bear feel at home, he was treated like part of their pack and they ensured he was comfortable and happy. Thank you Hao!

Schedule

Pet care is a central part of my daily routine, and I structure my schedule around the needs of the pets in my care. We maintain consistent feeding times, bathroom breaks, walks, and balanced play and rest throughout the day. While I work half days in the morning, my household schedule allows for ongoing supervision, as my wife works from home, ensuring pets are not left unattended for long periods. This provides consistent companionship and timely care. Dogs enjoy activities tailored to their energy and age. Active dogs have longer walks and interactive play, while senior or lower-energy dogs receive gentle exercise, calm routines, and plenty of rest. I can also accommodate medications, special routines, and any specific care instructions. Our pets enjoy a calm, safe environment in a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood with a large backyard, as well as access to nearby parks and wooded trails, providing plenty of opportunities for exploration, exercise, and mental enrichment.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are at the core of my care. My home is fully pet-proofed, clean, and organized, allowing pets to move freely in a calm, comfortable environment. Each pet has a dedicated space for rest and relaxation. I live in a quiet, upscale residential neighborhood with a large, fully fenced backyard, surrounded by multiple parks and wooded trails. This provides a safe, controlled, and enriching space for outdoor play and exercise. All outdoor time is closely supervised and adjusted to the pet’s age, energy level, and physical condition. I am certified in Dog First Aid & CPR, which allows me to respond calmly and effectively in case of emergencies. I carefully follow all feeding, medication, and care instructions. In a client’s home, I respect the space and maintain the pet’s routine to reduce stress, ensuring doors are secured, pets are supervised or leashed when appropriate, and all instructions are followed. My goal is reliable, attentive care that gives owners complete peace of mind.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day is structured yet flexible, tailored to each dog’s personality and energy level. The day usually starts with a morning bathroom break and a walk, followed by breakfast and calm indoor time. Dogs enjoy supervised playtime — fetch, interactive toys, or gentle games in the large backyard. Walks may include quiet neighborhood strolls, nearby parks, or wooded trails, providing both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Positive reinforcement training, puzzle toys, and scent-based games provide mental enrichment. Senior or lower - energy dogs enjoy gentle movement, cozy rest, and one-on-one attention. The day winds down with relaxed indoor time, affection, and a final walk or potty break, leaving each dog calm, comfortable, and happy.

To provide the best possible care, I like to learn about each pet before their stay. Helpful information includes daily routines—feeding times, exercise needs, and sleep schedule—as well as medical conditions, allergies, or medications. Understanding a pet’s behavior is also important: likes and dislikes, training cues, and any signs of stress or anxiety. Dietary preferences, favorite toys or activities, and preferred resting spots help make their stay comfortable. I also ask for veterinary contact information and any emergency instructions. The more I know in advance, the better I can keep your pet safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
