Pet care experience

Air Con | Active Care | Dog-Savvy

Dogs are a big part of my everyday life. I’m an experienced dog owner and have regularly looked after and boarded dogs for friends, so although I’m new to Rover, I’m definitely not new to caring for dogs. I have hands-on experience raising and training dogs from puppyhood, including basic obedience, loose-lead walking, recall, impulse control and helping dogs stay calm around everyday distractions. I also pay close attention to dogs’ body language and behaviour, so I can recognise when a dog is excited, nervous, overwhelmed, tired or simply needs a little space. Every dog is different, and I always adapt the way I interact with them to their individual personality and needs. I’ve also worked on a university research and design project focused on canine separation anxiety, which gave me a deeper understanding of how changes in routine, unfamiliar environments and being away from their owners can affect some dogs. I’m mindful of giving dogs enough time to settle, keeping their routine familiar and helping them feel secure in a new environment. I’m a very active person and genuinely enjoy having dogs involved in my day. I have plenty of time and energy for walks and outdoor activities, and I can offer up to 4–5 walks or toilet breaks a day if that suits your dog’s usual routine. Depending on their age, fitness, personality and what they enjoy, we can do anything from relaxed neighbourhood walks and park trips to exploring dog-friendly parts of London, longer countryside walks or hikes. At the same time, I never believe that more exercise is automatically better. If your dog is older, nervous, a young puppy or simply prefers a quieter lifestyle, I’m equally happy to have shorter walks and a relaxed day at home. I’ll always follow your instructions and your dog’s normal routine. Most importantly, I know that leaving your dog with someone new can be stressful for owners too. I’m very happy to send plenty of photos, videos and little updates throughout the day, so you can see how your dog is settling in, what we’ve been up to and feel reassured while you’re away. My goal is simple: I want your dog to feel like they’re having a little holiday of their own while staying with me.

Hao has taken care of my cat before and I was very happy with the care he provided. He is genuinely very comfortable around cats and understands that every cat has a different personality. He gave my cat plenty of attention and playtime, but also knew when to give her space to settle and relax. He was reliable with feeding and litter care and regularly sent me photos and updates. My cat became very comfortable around him, which was lovely to see. I would have no hesitation leaving my cat with Hao again. He is caring, patient and very responsible with animals.

Hao looked after my cat and I had a really positive experience. I was initially a little worried because he has dogs at home, but he has a separate room and was able to keep my cat completely separate from the dogs, so there was no issue at all. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and my cat had plenty of space to relax. Hao was very patient and clearly understands cats well. He kept me updated with photos and messages, which made me feel very reassured while I was away. I would definitely trust him to look after my cat again and would happily recommend him to other cat owners.

What I appreciate most about Hao is how attentive he is to each dog’s individual personality. He doesn’t treat every dog the same and takes time to understand what makes them comfortable, especially when they are settling into a new environment. He’s very caring and communicates really well, with regular photos and little updates throughout the day. Leaving a pet with someone else can be stressful, but Hao makes the whole experience feel much easier and more reassuring.

Hao has looked after my dog several times, including overnight stays, and I’ve always felt very comfortable leaving my dog with him. He’s responsible, attentive and genuinely loves spending time with dogs. He always follows the usual feeding and walking routine and sends plenty of photos and updates, which is really reassuring when I’m away. My dog is always happy to see him again, and I would definitely trust Hao to look after my dog in the future.

Hao is especially great with active and energetic dogs. He really enjoys taking dogs out for walks, park trips and longer adventures, and he has a good understanding of basic training and dog behaviour. He’s patient, confident and pays attention to things like body language, excitement levels and when a dog needs a break. I always feel that my dog gets plenty of exercise, attention and care when staying with him.

Schedule

Pet care is already a big part of my everyday routine as I have dogs of my own. I’m very active and love spending time outdoors, so walks, playtime and enrichment naturally fit into my day. I can offer up to 4–5 walks or toilet breaks a day if that suits your dog’s usual routine, with plenty of company and attention in between. I’m also happy to plan longer park walks, city adventures or countryside trips for dogs who enjoy them.

Safety, trust & environment

I always treat each dog as an individual and follow their normal feeding, walking, sleeping and training routines as closely as possible. I pay close attention to body language and never force interactions if a dog seems nervous or needs space. I have two dogs of my own, so for boarding I’m happy to arrange a Meet & Greet first to make sure everyone is comfortable together. New dogs are introduced gradually and supervised carefully, especially during the settling-in period. My home is comfortable and air-conditioned, which is especially helpful during hot weather and for fluffy or heat-sensitive breeds. Fresh water is always available, and walks and activities are adjusted according to the weather, age and energy level of each dog. I’m also very happy to follow any specific instructions you have and send regular photos and videos throughout the stay. We also have separate freezer space available for your dog’s food, which is especially convenient for dogs on raw, frozen or home-prepared diets. I’m happy to follow your usual feeding and storage instructions.

A typical day

A typical day will be built around your dog’s normal routine. I usually start with a morning walk and toilet break, followed by breakfast, playtime and some rest. During the day we can enjoy enrichment games, basic training, park walks and plenty of attention. I’m very active and can offer up to 4–5 walks or toilet breaks a day when suitable. For dogs who enjoy exploring, I’m also happy to plan longer park walks, dog-friendly London adventures or countryside walks. Evenings are usually calmer, with another walk, dinner and plenty of time to relax and settle before bed.

Before a stay, I’d love to know as much as possible about your dog’s usual routine, personality and preferences. Please let me know about feeding, allergies or medication, walking habits, recall, reactivity or triggers, separation anxiety, sleeping arrangements, exercise limits and anything they may be nervous about. As I have dogs of my own at home, it’s also important for me to understand how your dog feels around other dogs. For first-time boarding, I’m always happy to arrange a Meet & Greet so we can make sure everyone feels comfortable before the stay.
