Pet care experience

🐾Vet Nurse • Loving Sitter🐾

I have several years of hands-on experience with pet care, including dogs, cats, and small animals. I currently work at a veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant and am in school to be a veterinary technician. I’ve cared for high-energy puppies as well as senior dogs who need a gentler approach, including administering medication and helping with mobility. I’m comfortable with leash training, crate training, and reinforcing basic commands. Animals tend to warm up to me quickly because I’m patient, gentle, and love spending quality time with them. What sets me apart is how tuned in I am to each pet’s unique personality and need. I treat them like part of the family.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and I work with them all day. My schedule is currently flexible, so I’m able to accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening visits, as well as overnights if needed. Whether it’s a daily walk, drop-in, or extended care, I’m happy to build a consistent routine that works best for both the pet and the owner. I prioritize reliability and always make sure pets get the attention, playtime, and care they need.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I prioritize safety, comfort, and trust. I always follow any specific instructions closely such as feeding, routines, medications, and house rules. In a client’s home, I make sure pets feel secure by keeping their environment familiar and calm. I keep doors and gates secure, supervise them closely, and never leave them unattended in risky situations. If I’m caring for pets in my own space, I make sure it’s clean, pet-proofed, and quiet, with lots of attention and affection. Communication is also key! I send regular updates so owners feel confident their pets are in good hands.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day depends on the pet’s energy level and personality, but I always make sure they’re getting love, stimulation, and attention. For dogs, that might mean walks around the neighborhood, fetch at the park, or some tug-of-war and training games. If they’re more low-key, I’ll spend time snuggling, giving belly rubs, or hanging out in the yard. For cats, I love interactive play with toys, brushing, and making cozy spots for naps. I try to keep their day fun, comforting, and as close to their normal routine as possible.

Before caring for a pet, I like to know about their daily routine, any medical needs, quirks, or triggers, like if they’re reactive on walks or nervous around new people. It’s also helpful to know their favorite toys, treats, and any training they’ve had or are working on. Understanding their energy level, personality, and how they usually behave at home helps me give them the best care possible and make them feel safe and happy.
