From neighbors’ dogs and cats, to a friend’s bunny and my own fish and hamsters, I’ve loved caring for animals all my life. I adopted my dog, JJ, in 2020 when he was 2 years old and living as a stray on the streets. When I first met him, all he knew was “sit,” but over the years I’ve taught him all kinds of things, from closing doors to jumping over poles. I love him with all my heart, and I understand the anxiety that comes with trusting someone else to care for your pet. That’s why I make it a point to treat every dog, cat, and animal in my care the same way I would want someone to treat JJ—with patience, attention, and lots of love.
