Availability

I'm a master's student studying psychology at the University of Stirling, where I am currently writing my dissertation. This gives me a flexible schedule, so I can help with pets in my free time. I am very flexible during the day, so I can frequently come by and take the dog/dogs out for a walk and/ or play. I am also very happy staying over in your dog's home to make the experience as stress-free as possible for you and your dog.

Safety, trust & environment

I have no problem staying at your house to care for your pets. I am very clean and organised, and I will take great care of your dog and ensure that your home is in safe hands. I know from experience how important it is to many people that your dog is comfortable in its environment, and therefore, I am more than happy to stay at your home if desired. Unfortunately, I am currently not allowed to have pets in my home. I plan on moving to a flat in the next months where pets are permitted.

Information Hannah W. would like to know about your pet

I have no preference for breeds. My one dog (Oreo) is a large border collie who sometimes was challenging around other dogs. I am, therefore, very skilled in walking larger dogs and dogs that may have issues with other animals or people. I also have another dog at home (Stella) who is very scared. I am, therefore, great at gaining dogs' trust and making them feel safe and relaxed around me. I am appropriately equipped with the skills (and muscle) to take care of a variety of breeds and their needs.

A typical day

I will go on long walks with your dog (unless you desire shorter and more frequent walks. I will tailor the care for your dogs based on any of your wishes.) I will make these walks fun and entertaining by doing different walks. I love playing fetch, running around and playing games that will allow your dog to release energy and work their brains simultaneously (My border collie loves games where he has to search for treats!). However, I am also aware that this can be stressful for many dogs and therefore, I love cuddling and having some "chill time" where your furry friend can destress and relax. I want your dog's experience to be fun but as relaxing as possible! Whatever you and your dog wish, I will try to make it happen.

Love for animals and very trustworthy

Pet care experience

I've turned two former street dogs into happy, well-adjusted pets. My first dog was shy and scared, but I helped her learn to trust people. My second dog had issues with other dogs, and with lots of training, he's much calmer now. I understand dogs well and can quickly read how they're feeling. With my experience and love for animals, I know how to make them feel safe and loved. I got my second dog as a puppy and went through puppy training with him. I also went to many dog schools with both dogs, gaining new skills and experience. During my time at university, I attended a conference about animal therapy and psychology, where I learned different ways of teaching animals tricks and basic tasks.
