Before I watch or walk someone’s dog, it’s important for me to know a few key things to ensure their safety and comfort. I like to ask about their usual routine, any medical conditions or medications, dietary needs, and how they react to other dogs or people. It’s also helpful to know their favorite toys or activities, any fears or triggers (like loud noises or certain surfaces), and how they typically behave on walks. Understanding these details helps me provide the best care possible and make the experience stress-free for both the dog and their owner.

When I watch other people’s dogs, I love to keep them happy, active, and mentally engaged with a mix of fun and enrichment-based activities—if allowed. This might include going on nature walks, playing fetch or tug-of-war, and exploring new scents on a hike. I also like to provide enrichment through puzzle toys, slow feeders, frozen treats, or simple training games that keep their minds sharp. If the dog enjoys social time, we’ll cuddle, play, and maybe even play with my own dog. My goal is to make sure they feel loved, stimulated, and completely at ease while their owners are away.
