Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment. I have a fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time and baby gates inside to help manage space, support routines, and keep pets safe. Dogs can relax on the couch, explore the yard, or settle into a quiet space depending on their needs. I keep their routine consistent with yours, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your routines closely so your pet feels comfortable and stress-free. I take my time getting to know their personality, comfort level, and any specific needs such as medications, senior care, or extra reassurance. I keep your home tidy, respect your space, and send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. No matter where I’m caring for your pet, I prioritize safety, communication, and giving them lots of love, attention, and gentle structure so they feel secure and happy.

Information Hannah W. would like to know about your pet

It’s important for me to know as much as possible about each pet ahead of time so I can provide the safest and most comfortable care. This includes their daily routine, feeding schedule, portion sizes, exercise needs, and any medical conditions or medications. I also like to know about their personality, energy level, comfort around other animals or people, and any triggers such as anxiety, leash reactivity, or separation stress. I also ask about their training level, preferred walking style, favourite activities, and any commands they already know so I can keep consistency. For senior dogs, I pay extra attention to mobility needs, comfort, and slower-paced routines. The more I understand about each pet, the better I can make them feel at home, reduce stress, and ensure their safety and happiness while in my care.

A typical day

A typical day depends on the pet’s routine, age, and energy level, but I always aim to keep things consistent, calm, and engaging. The day usually starts with a morning walk or time outside in my fully fenced yard so the dog can get fresh air, stretch, and settle in for the day. I follow their regular feeding schedule and make sure they have fresh water at all times. For more active dogs, I include playtime such as fetch, tug-of-war, or enrichment games that help keep them mentally stimulated. For senior dogs or more relaxed pets, I focus on gentle walks, comfort, and plenty of rest time. Throughout the day, I give regular potty breaks, attention, and companionship so they don’t feel alone or anxious. I also enjoy incorporating simple enrichment like sniff walks, basic training reinforcement, puzzle toys, or just quiet cuddle time depending on what each pet enjoys. In the evening, we wind down with a calm walk, feeding, and relaxed time indoors so they feel settled and comfortable for the night. I always aim to make pets feel safe, loved, and at home while keeping their routine as close to normal as possible.

Pet care experience

What sets me apart is the safe, structured, and loving environment I provide. I have a fully fenced yard, baby gates for extra safety, and experience caring for a wide range of dogs, including Golden Doodles, French Bulldogs, and mixed breeds. I’ve also cared for three senior dogs at once and was able to meet all their individual needs with patience and attention. I’m comfortable with small and medium dogs, dog walking, house sitting, and hosting dogs in my home for longer stays. I also have reliable transportation and strong communication. Additionally, I’m an educator with open availability starting this summer, and evening and weekend availability for now, making my schedule flexible and dependable for pet parents.
