I work from home so can be at your fur baby's beck and call. I make sure to take some me time and a break during the working day where I may treat myself to a posh coffee. I will also use this time to treat the pets I am looking after, be it with a walk with me for some fresh air or with a puppuccino (if they are allowed).

Information Hannah S. would like to know about your pet
It’s great to know a bit about your pet’s personality and what makes them tick. I like to know about their particular habits and favourite treats. Maybe it’s Wotsits (like my dog). Yes I know they shouldn’t have cheesy crisps, however I would never feed someone else’s pet human food if instructed against this. It’s important to know Vet information such as contact details for the Vet and a brief history if the pet is on medication. I’m very confident administering medical care and would ask for clear instructions on medication names, dosages and frequency.
A typical day
I always start off by spending some time with the pets I look after. It seems obvious, but as soon as the door closes and the owner has gone it can seem quite perplexing. So I give the pet some space first to feel things out. Some dogs especially are straight to you and are eager to interact and some take more time. They need to come to you. Once we’re a bit more settled if I haven’t already used it as an ice breaker, we’ll have a few treats and then I’ll take dogs on a tour of their surroundings. Well then come back home and have either some cuddles or some play time. If the owner gives permission, I like to take the pets out to walk toward the Peak District or even on Wernerth Low. I like to make sure we’ve had a good run about and we’ve had a chance to get all the beans out by throwing and catching. If that’s not their thing, a good hoof about exploring hills normally does the job.

Pet care experience
Having had dogs throughout my life, I know what it takes to care for them. I was brought up with Collie crosses, Salukis, Labradors, Jack Russells and Jackawawas. Our family Jack had puppies with a very cute long haired chihuahua and one of the babies, Frank, is the light of my life!! I've had little dogs and big dogs and know that not only do personalities vary from breed to breed, they vary from dog to dog. They are all their own individual. I'm very used to administering medication, both to my own dogs within my immediate family and dogs I have cared for. I have wide pharmaceutical knowledge related to my background in Chemistry. Aside from this, I make sure to gather thorough information from every owner about what they would prefer in the case of emergency and ask for vet details and an emergency contact at a minimum. My baby angel Frank is now 15 and needs help with his mobility. My family and I push him in a pram now and I am happy to do the same for any dog I care for. I'm a big advocate for adoption in general, but especially adoption of senior dogs. Although I can't adopt any more dogs, I have experience fostering older dogs too and have developed an excellent understanding of their needs, needing to pee a lot and getting a bit grumpy included! Having had a lot of input into raising puppies I know that consistency is key. I'm more than happy to continue implementing any training that is already established and ongoing. I will also help in anyway I can to help train a puppy. I have the most knowledge about food-orientated dogs. I genuinely adore animals, especially dogs, and worship them for the loving, loyal and (mostly) non judgmental beings they are.
