I have over 1,400 hours of hands-on animal care experience across veterinary clinics, shelters, and private pet sitting. I worked as a veterinary assistant and kennel technician for over a year and a half, and I am now an animal technician at the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, where I care for animals with medical, behavioral, and special-needs conditions. I’m experienced and fully comfortable administering medications, including oral meds, topical treatments, eye/ear meds, injections (when appropriate), and other medical care that falls within my abilities and training. I understand how to safely handle pets who need ongoing monitoring or extra support. I also have personal experience caring for a dog on seizure watch, so I’m familiar with monitoring, recognizing warning signs, logging episodes, and creating a calm, safe environment. I’ve also pet-sat for another dog with seizures, so I’m confident managing pets who need extra attention or have neurological conditions. In addition to my clinical work, I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters, gaining experience with shy, anxious, and reactive cats and dogs. I use gentle, low-stress handling and prioritize safety, patience, and communication with every pet. I’ve been pet sitting for several years and understand how to keep pets relaxed, loved, and stress-free in their own home.
