Fully insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained (with some transferable skills to cats). With several years of experience working part-time at a dog parlour, as well as engaging in dog walking and cat sitting, I have developed my skills as an understanding and patient caregiver for your beloved pets. Additionally, my hands-on work experience at a veterinary clinic gives me a good understanding of how to maintain the well-being of your pets. My background in animal care covers a diverse range of animals, from small pets to farm animals. Since I was a young child I have helped on farms with a range of livestock including sheep, cows, pigs, alpacas, goats and donkeys. These experiences enable me to skilfully handle the various behavioural patterns seen by different animals. Moreover, my own history of owning dogs, cats, and small animals equips me with the experience necessary to manage multiple pets at the same time. My late cats lived to 22 years old so I am also aware of the patience that must be had when looking after older animals! Moreover, I recently completed some online courses with the University of Edinburgh on 'Animal Behaviour and Welfare' and 'The Truth about Cats and Dogs', these course covered the following areas: 'The Appliance of Science, Ethology, Sense and Sensibility, Living with Humans, Improving Pets Quality of Life, Aggression in Dogs, Dog and Cat Genetics and Small Animals complexities'. I also completed an online course with Duke University on 'Dog Emotion and Cognition'. The information learnt in these courses helps me to understand your pets behaviour, why they may be acting in a certain way and how I can keep pets calm and happy whilst you are away. Of course, each animal is different though and each animal needs to be treated as an individual
