I have extra availability right now being on break from grad school and am able to do morning, evening, and midday drop-ins most days! When my schooling starts up again in July, my availability will shift to just mornings and evenings on weekdays and morning, midday, and evening on weekends.

First and foremost, I pay attention to and respect their boundaries and needs. I make sure they have plenty of fresh water and clean bowls/fountains. I make sure they get enough to eat, separating them or guarding food bowls if I have to. For cats, I scoop litter boxes at least once a day, more if you request it. For dogs, I am quick to bag up poop and dispose of it per your instructions. For both cats and dogs, I am thorough in cleaning up accidents and will report them to you. I make sure there are minimal hazards, pay attention to how they're feeling, and report any concerns immediately. I am sure to spend time petting, brushing, and/or playing with them as I can, and I make sure their environment is enriched so they feel cared for when I'm away.

Please let me know if your pets have any special needs or considerations, whether it's health-related or just a quirk/preference! (For example, my cat will only drink water that has come from the tub faucet and prefers this over filtered water.)
A typical day
During my drop-in visit with your pet(s), I will start by greeting them and building trust with them. I will then be sure to follow your instructions as far as food, water, cleaning, and any medications or other considerations. I will also spend time petting, playing, walking, giving treats, and/or brushing depending on their needs and your instructions! I will be sure to take pictures and send them to you along with a summary at the end of the visit.

Pet care experience
I've taken care of cats and dogs for as long as I've been able to, starting with my family's cat and dogs and later pet sitting for neighbors. In recent years, I've volunteered to help cats with the RHSPCA and Humane Society of Shenandoah County. I actually fell in love with one of those cats and adopted him. I've had lots of experience cleaning up messes and taking care of sick cats and dogs, including administering injections and liquid and pill oral medication.
