Accidentally became a pet sitter 😛
As my headline states - I kept getting asked to watch friends’ and neighbors’ pets over the years and I’ve come to realize I really love doing it! I’ve lived my whole life with a variety of pets (cats mostly, working breed dogs, and small dogs, rodents, birds, etc.) and you’ll always find me in the other room during a house party after finding and bonding with the family pet. I’ve done medication regimens including shots on a hyper dog and pills for a squirmy cat. After decades of living with animals and several years of training cats and dogs, I’ve become attuned to their communication styles and needs based upon body language. I really like to meet pets with the owner beforehand so we can talk through the care routine and your pets have the opportunity to become familiar with me when they’re already happy and relaxed. I show up at the same time every day, go through the same routines with them, and make sure they’re feeling well stimulated with play, walks, brushing, or plenty of attention. I like to make sure they feel comfortable enough to eat and drink while I’m around and that their spaces are clean. I can adapt my energy for what your pet may need that day.

She watched our dog and cat for us while we were on vacation and she was wonderful! Our dog takes medications twice a day and is particular about how he’s serves his food, but he was quick to warm up to her and she was prompt about updates and sent many pictures. Would recommend and will continue to use her whenever we need someone to watch our fur babies!

Schedule
I will usually swing by after work (and make sure to show up at the same time everyday because predictability and routine is key for comfort while their people are away). I treat others’ pets as I would my own, so I will encourage play, give them plenty of attention, and ensure they’re eating and drinking. I like to send pictures or videos every day (because I like when people do that for me when I’m on a trip and miss my cats 💖). Depending on where you’re located, I may also be able to swing by at lunchtime.
