Dogs fit really naturally into my daily routine. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, which means I can fully accommodate a dog’s individual needs rather than fitting them around a rigid timetable. I’m able to take dogs out for early morning walks (I’m an early riser), as well as longer walks during the day and again in the evening if needed. I’m a very active person and live close to green spaces and parks, so walks, playtime, and enrichment are a normal part of my day. Because I can finish work when I need to, I’m always available for toilet breaks, feeding schedules, medication, training reinforcement, or simply spending time with dogs who need company and reassurance. Whether a dog needs lots of exercise, a calm structured routine, or extra patience and attention, I’m completely flexible and happy to adapt my day around what helps them feel most comfortable and settled.

Safety, trust & environment

I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I’m completely open and flexible in how I care for dogs, whether they need lots of attention, reassurance, and companionship, or whether they’re more independent and simply need someone present to help them feel safe and settled at home. I have experience caring for dogs across a wide range of temperaments, from very needy or anxious dogs to those who are more relaxed and self-sufficient. I take the time to understand what each dog needs to feel comfortable, happy, and secure, and I adjust my approach accordingly. My priority is always to make sure your dog feels safe, cared for, and at ease while you’re away.

Information Hannah B. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your dog, I like to learn as much as possible about their routine and individual needs so I can provide consistent, familiar care. This includes how often they’re walked, their feeding schedule and diet, how they let you know they need the bathroom, and what level of attention, play, and exercise they’re used to. I also like to understand how your dog behaves on walks, for example, whether they prefer being on the lead at all times, how they are around other dogs and people, and how they tend to react to wildlife or other distractions while out. Knowing this in advance helps me plan walks that are safe, calm, and enjoyable for your dog. I’m very happy to continue any training routines you’d like to keep up, as well as accommodate any preferences, quirks, or sensitivities. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can prepare and ensure your dog feels comfortable, secure, and well cared for from the very start.

A typical day

I really enjoy providing fun and enriching activities that are tailored to each dog’s needs. I strongly believe that daily mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, and I aim to include around 10 minutes of focused mental enrichment each day, depending on the dog. This often includes short training sessions to engage their brain and build confidence in a positive, low-pressure way. I also love using scent-based games, such as hiding treats around the house for dogs to find. This allows them to use their natural sniffing instincts and provides great mental enrichment, especially while I’m working from home and can supervise. Outside of this, I enjoy taking dogs out for walks, exploring parks and green spaces, and spending quality time playing or relaxing together. I always follow the dog’s lead, energetic, playful dogs get plenty of play and exercise, while calmer dogs are given space to relax and enjoy companionship at their own pace. Every dog is different, and I’m very happy to adapt activities to suit what your dog enjoys most.

Pet care experience

I have loved and cared for animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and cared for a 16-year-old Jack Russell/Cocker Spaniel and currently a 4-year-old Jack Russell puppy. They are truly the sweetest dogs, and caring for them is my favourite part of everyday life. Because of them, I have hands-on experience with both senior dogs and puppies, including weekend puppy training, adapting routines for older dogs, and understanding changing needs as dogs age. I also have extensive experience with dogs who need a little extra patience and understanding. My current dog, Lottie, is four years old and struggles with anxiety, high energy levels, and reactivity such as barking. I’ve taken her to behavioural and therapy-based training sessions, and through this I’ve learned how to calmly support anxious dogs, use positive reinforcement, maintain structure, and tailor care to help them feel safe and settled. I’m very comfortable caring for energetic, nervous, or sensitive dogs and always take the time to understand what works best for each individual. As my wider family has grown, so has my experience, I’m now the “go-to” dog sitter for family and friends and have cared for a wide range of breeds, from huskies to chihuahuas. This followed me to university as well, where I regularly looked after other people’s dogs, gaining confidence with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. Alongside dogs, I am a lifelong cat lover. I grew up with my own rescued three-legged cat, Tinkabelle, who was very affectionate and loved staying close to home, and later cared for Tiggo, a more independent, free-roaming cat who lived to 17 years old. My sister now lives in France with five cats, and I regularly look after them when I visit, so I’m very comfortable managing multiple cats, varied routines, and different temperaments. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about animal care. I always aim to stick closely to your pet’s usual routine to keep them relaxed while you’re away, and I’m very happy to provide regular photo and text updates for peace of mind. Your pets will be cared for as if they were my own.

Eddie had a great time with Hannah! Hannah was communicative and checked all of Ed’s needs before the stay, and I received updates. Hannah was also really helpful in doing a handover with a friend too before my return from my trip away. I will definitely be requesting sitting from Hannah again, Ed came back very content!
