Teacher by day, animal lover 24/7!
Hi all! I’ve been a Chicago resident for 7 years, and have been pet sitting with Rover for about 3. I’m a high school art teacher by day- and trust me if I can handle these kids all week I can handle a couple adorable pets! I’m friendly, on time, responsive, responsible- and of course an animal lover (and dog owner my self)! I’ll make sure to take lots of pics of your pets, whether on a walk or at your home. Walking dogs was my first job in middle school, and I’ve house/pet sat for friends and neighbors over the years. I’ve been trained in dog CPR/1st aid and have experience administering meds to cats and dogs. I also have 2 dogs that my wife and I rescued. Nala, a rambunctious 6 year old Pomeranian, and Slinky, a 3 year old Pekinese and the chillest guy on the planet. Additionally, I grew up with lots of pets, as my mom is (in her words) “a lover of and collector of strays”. I can’t count on one had the number of rescue pets (of all varieties!) I grew up with. I’ll care for your pet like my own! I have my own dogs who both with their own quirks. Nala has needed pretty substantial training and medication due to severe separation anxiety, and other medical concerns. I’m patient but firm with her when needed. I’m attentive on walks, making sure to watch for body language. At home, I love to cuddle with my pups, though they’re both energetic so we spend a lot of time playing! Additionally, as a teacher, I’m used to handing many personalities and stressful situations. My ability to stay calm and respectful while responding to incidents at work transfers over if there’s ever a need to handle a situation with a pet. I strive to create a loving and safe home for my dogs, classroom for my students— and a loving and safe experience for you and your pet!

Fantastic sitter. Completely capable of handling MacGyver's meds. He seemed very comfortable around her a d willing to play. Hallie was also prompt on updating on any developments that happened during check-ins.

Schedule
As stated I’m a teacher- over the summers I’m very flexible and can make most times/days work. During the school year, I can do a couple visits or walks after school or on weekends.
