Safety, trust & environment

Standard 30 minute visit: I will feed them, take them outside to potty, administer any meds, give them some cuddles, and make sure they get at least 15 minutes of play. If you have a working breed, I can also conduct training sessions and will extend play time based on your pet’s required needs (additional fee applies for visits longer than 30 minutes). For bookings longer than 30 minutes with dogs that are comfortable around me, I can offer baths and nail trimmings. Extended stays (longer than 2 hours): For working breeds who have specialized care, I can be there for up to 6 hours. During an extended stay, I can take the dog outside for 30 minutes to an hour of play, conduct a 30 minute training session, do supervised decompression time, and make sure that your dog gets all the attention and cuddles in the world. Any other special needs will be discussed during meet and greets. I can offer nail trimming and baths for dogs who are comfortable with me during extended visits at no extra charge. If you would like this option, please select “House Sitting” instead of drop in. Drop ins are only available for an hour or less. If hired for walks, our walks will be 30 minutes and/or one mile. I can also run/jog up to 2 miles for working breeds. If we are running, I will require that your dog does not pull hard on leash and has minimal animal reactivity.

Information Haley S. would like to know about your pet

Things I will ask before your stay so you can come prepared to our meet and greet! 1) Has your dog ever been in an altercation with another animal? (Animal reactivity is not an immediate no!) 2) Does your dog require any medication? What method is used to deliver meds? 3) How much do you feed your dog and how frequently? 4) Are you currently doing any training that you would like reinforced? 5) What type of play does your dog prefer? Tug, fetch or both? 6) Do you give your dog treats? 7) Does your dog have any seizures or underlying conditions that I should be aware of? 8) Is there any spot on your dog that I should not touch (paws, ears, face, head, tail)? 9) Does your dog resource guard? (ie: display signs of aggression around food/toys/furniture) 10) Does your dog go in a crate when you are not home? 11) Where can I find leashes, toys, treats, and anything else I might need to care for your dog?

A typical day

I am a very active handler. Most of our time will be spent outdoors for the active pups, and for my couch potatoes, they’ll have all the snuggles and naps they could dream of. My favorite way to engage new dogs is through structured play. Meaning combining their training with play time! Structured play forms a fantastic bond between the dog and handler and helps reinforce training in a fun way for your dog while getting their energy out. Additionally, we can learn new tricks and reinforce any prior training you have done with your dog with treats or toys—this includes specialized training reinforcement (no protection work). Hand feeding is also an option if that’s something your dog enjoys. I am also a runner and can run up to 2 miles with your dog if you would like. I can train basic obedience commands like sit, stay and down if you are interested. Or if your dog just likes to cuddle, we can do that too. I love all the pups from the couch potatoes to the ones that never stop moving! At the end of the day, I want my care to be a continuation of your care, so whatever methods you use to engage your dog on a day to day basis is what I will mimic unless otherwise instructed.

Pet care experience

Do you have a high drive dog who needs specialized care or a busy, unconventional work schedule? I’m your gal! My services*: Dog Walk - Starting at $25 for 30 minutes In Home Dog Sitting or Cat Sitting - Starting at $25 for 30 minutes Dog Running - Starting at $40 for 1 mile Fish and Reptile Care - Contact for pricing Reach out for pricing on longer stays! Please note the Rover quote may be inaccurate and pricing will be discussed at your meet and greet. All clients must schedule a meet and greet prior to booking. No overnight sitting, house sitting is for extended day time stays only. About me: -Like all pet sitters, I am incredibly passionate about animals, but proper care, handling, and dog training are what sets me apart from others. -I am a Lead Generator for a roofing company and make my own work schedule so I am extremely flexible with my time. -I own a reactive dog! His name is Stan and he’s the reason I became so well versed in reactivity, training, basic obedience, and dog body language. His severe reactivity changed my life and he was the catalyst that really made me invest in behavioral research and training. -I provide standard services like walking and drop ins in addition to dog running sessions and obedience training sessions with high-drive dogs or working breeds who need daily training reinforcement. I can follow your training program to ensure your dog gets constant training reinforcement. -While I cannot care for human reactive/aggressive dogs, I am experienced in how to care for dogs with special behavioral requirements, special jobs, and health concerns. I can easily lift up to 75-90lbs so large dogs with mobility issues are no problem for me! My extensive knowledge of dog body language, obedience, training methods and safety around other animals will give you peace of mind that your dog is in great hands while you’re traveling or working and you can trust that the methods used will always align with the standard of care that you give your pup. DISCLAIMER: I want to clarify that I use balanced methods with my dog due to the severity of his reactivity. I will only use PURE POSITIVE methods with client dogs unless you have worked with a balanced trainer *PRIOR TO* booking with me. I am able to use tools if your dog has been trained with them, but I cannot train your dog how to use them for the first time. If you would like more information on balanced training, I can redirect you to my local dog trainer who has helped me rehab my dog (she’s fantastic). Your dog will be trained, walked, or run with the tools and methods you prefer—I am extremely well versed in how to use all tools, positive and balanced. Fish and reptile care: I am able to perform daily water changes, water conditioning, API testing daily (with pictures provided), feeding (including live food), and basic tank maintenance for freshwater fish in tanks and ponds up to 500 gallons. I am able to care for reptiles including feeding and tank maintenance—no venomous snakes or creepy crawlers please, frozen food only, I’m squeamish with bugs!

Haley was a wonderful sitter. Her attention to detail showed from the first pre-sit meeting, taking notes & asking pertinent questions. Her communication was excellent through the weekend & made us feel confident our sometimes difficult pets were in good hands. I'd recommend her to anyone and would be happy to have her care for my pets again.
