Pet care experience
Farm Girl & Dog Lover 🐕
I bring over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, with a particular specialty in senior dogs and dogs with medical or mobility needs. Providing gentle, consistent care for older dogs is not something I do occasionally—it’s a core focus of my work. I understand how important routine, patience, and a calm environment are, especially during longer stays when familiarity and stability matter most. Senior Dog Specialty Care Includes: • Medication administration (oral, topical, supplements) • Mobility support and slow-paced walks • Monitoring appetite, energy levels, and behavior changes • Comfortable rest areas and quiet downtime • Maintaining existing care routines to reduce stress I live in a quiet 4-plex with a small, secure front yard, ideal for supervised outdoor time and relaxed potty breaks. Daily walks, structured schedules, and individualized enrichment ensure dogs stay comfortable, mentally engaged, and settled—especially helpful for longer or repeat stays where routine is key. Inside, my home is calm, clean, and intentionally low-stress. Dogs are treated as part of the household, not rotated through like a kennel. I keep bookings limited so each dog receives consistent attention and familiar care, which many clients find especially reassuring when booking extended stays or returning regularly. Many owners return because their dogs settle in quickly, recognize the space, and feel at home—particularly seniors who benefit from consistency and a familiar caregiver. If you’re looking for a reliable, experienced sitter who prioritizes safety, comfort, and long-term trust—especially for senior dogs or those needing extra support—I’d be happy to connect. Please note: For safety reasons, I accept unaltered male dogs; however, all female dogs must be spayed. I look forward to welcoming you and your dog—whether for a weekend stay or an ongoing care relationship.

Ratings and reviews
Haley was able to accommodate Blue with very short notice, which was phenomenal for us. She and her family love Blue like their own pets, and Blue is very comfortable and at home there.

Highly recommend Haley to look out to your fur babies! She did twice daily drop-in visits for my cat and he absolutely loved his time with her. She sent updates and photos for every visit, so I knew he was doing well. She was also very flexible and responsive to last minute changes to my booking. I returned to a happy and cared for kitty, as well as a clean house with everything in order! I will definitely be using Haley again the next time I am away from my little one.

Haley always takes such great care of Jack. We appreciate you always going above and beyond to make his stay comfortable, and for keeping us in the loop on how he’s doing.

Thank you for being so helpful during Jack’s stay with you, accommodating unexpected changes last minute and taking great care of him!

Thanks for having Jack!

Thanks for taking such great care of Jack this weekend!

Schedule
First things first—coffee is a must before anything else! Pet care is fully integrated into my daily and weekly routine—it’s not something squeezed in around other commitments. Mornings begin with a calm, structured start: after coffee, I open kennels, x-pens, and gates so dogs can head out for their first supervised potty break. Breakfast follows, along with hands-on, monitored playtime focused on both mental and physical stimulation. After another outdoor break, dogs settle in for rest time while I take care of household tasks. This downtime is especially important for senior dogs and those who need a quieter pace. Throughout the day, I continue to monitor comfort, energy levels, and routines to ensure everyone stays relaxed and settled. Later in the day, dogs enjoy a 30–60 minute walk, adjusted based on their age, size, temperament, energy level, and any medical or mobility considerations. Activities are always tailored—whether that means structured play for higher-energy dogs or slow, gentle walks and extra rest for senior guests. With over 20 years of experience, including caring for senior dogs and those requiring medication or additional support, I’m attentive to routines, health changes, and individual needs. Dogs always have access to calm, comfortable resting spaces and consistent care. Pet care is part of my household rhythm, and dogs are treated as part of the family while they’re here.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Boarding (In My Home): When dogs stay in my home, I focus on creating a calm, structured, and welcoming environment where they feel safe and settled. I begin with one-on-one introductions between your dog and mine to ensure comfort and compatibility. If multiple client dogs are scheduled, I coordinate gradual, supervised introductions to reduce stress and support positive interactions. Care is always individualized. I follow each dog’s established routines for feeding, exercise, rest, and medication, paying close attention to behavior, appetite, and overall well-being. My experience with senior dogs and dogs needing medication or mobility support allows me to provide attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay. Dogs are treated as part of the household—not a kennel environment—with access to comfortable rest areas, appropriate activity, and consistent supervision. I intentionally keep care structured and low-stress, which is especially beneficial for longer stays and repeat visits. Dog Walking: When caring for dogs through walking services, safety, consistency, and individualized attention are my top priorities. Before our first walk, I take time to understand each dog’s routine, energy level, temperament, and any medical or mobility considerations. Walks are always tailored—whether that means structured exercise for higher-energy dogs or slower, gentle strolls for senior dogs. I use secure leashing practices at all times and remain fully attentive to surroundings, body language, and pacing throughout the walk. With over 20 years of experience, including caring for senior dogs and those requiring medication or special handling, I’m attentive to signs of fatigue, discomfort, or stress and adjust accordingly. Each walk is designed to be both physically beneficial and mentally calming. Drop-In Visits: For drop-in visits, I provide dependable, attentive care that keeps pets comfortable and routines uninterrupted while owners are away. Each visit is tailored to your pet’s specific needs and includes feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, light exercise or play, medication administration if required, and companionship. I take time to observe behavior, energy levels, and overall condition during each visit, which is especially important for senior dogs or pets with medical needs. I ensure the home environment remains safe and calm and always follow care instructions closely to maintain consistency. With extensive experience and a strong attention to detail, my goal during drop-ins is to ensure pets feel secure, cared for, and relaxed until their family returns.

A typical day
Fun, enrichment, and engagement are a regular part of each day, always tailored to the individual dog. After morning potty breaks and breakfast, we enjoy supervised playtime, where I’m actively involved—whether that’s tossing toys, gentle games in the yard, or working on basic commands like sit, stay, heel, or shake-a-paw. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity, and I adjust play based on each dog’s age, energy level, and comfort. Throughout the day, dogs enjoy structured enrichment activities, such as puzzle toys, scent work, and calm interactive play. Later on, we head out for a 30–60 minute walk, depending on the dog’s needs, leash manners, size, and stamina. Walks are always individualized—some dogs enjoy a brisk pace and exploration, while others prefer slower, more relaxed strolls. For senior dogs or those with medical or mobility considerations, activities are intentionally gentle and low-stress. This may include short walks, light play, enrichment games, and plenty of cozy downtime. Quiet rest areas are always available so dogs can relax and recharge when they need to. Whether your dog is playful and energetic or prefers a calmer pace with enrichment and affection, activities are always designed to keep them happy, comfortable, and well cared for.
