I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible, because consistency helps animals feel safe, comfortable, and less stressed while their owners are away. In a client’s home, I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, clean living spaces, exercise or enrichment, and plenty of attention based on their needs and personality. I also closely monitor behavior, appetite, and energy levels so I can notice if anything seems off. I have experience caring for a variety of animals, so I understand that each type of pet has different needs. Some may need walks and playtime, some may need tank or habitat checks, and others may simply need a calm environment and gentle care. I’m also comfortable administering medications when needed and following any specific care instructions. No matter the animal or location, I treat every pet like my own and focus on making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

It’s important for me to know as much as possible about your pet ahead of time so I can provide the best care and make them feel comfortable. Helpful information includes their normal routine, feeding schedule, bathroom habits, favorite activities, energy level, personality, and any triggers or fears they may have. I also like to know how they interact with new people, other animals, and any commands or habits they are used to. Please let me know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, mobility issues, or special care instructions as well. For cats or small animals, I’d also like to know about litter, habitat, or cleaning routines. The more I know ahead of time, the smoother the experience will be for both your pet and you, and it helps me make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
I love making sure pets are not only cared for, but also happy and entertained while you’re away. For dogs, I enjoy going on walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, practicing basic commands, using puzzle toys, and giving them plenty of playtime and attention to help burn energy. I always adjust activities based on the dog’s age, energy level, and personality. For cats, I enjoy interactive play with wand toys, balls, catnip toys, treat puzzles, and other enrichment activities that keep them curious and engaged. I also know many cats simply enjoy quiet companionship, brushing, window watching, or cuddling on their own terms, so I always respect their personality and comfort level. No matter the pet, I focus on keeping them active, mentally stimulated, and comfortable while making sure they feel loved and cared for.

Pet care experience
What sets me apart from other sitters is that my experience comes from personally caring for animals every day, not just occasional pet sitting. I have hands-on experience with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, frogs, bearded dragons, and snakes, so I’m comfortable with a wide variety of pets and their unique needs. I also have personal experience caring for pets with medical needs. My own dog takes daily medication, and my cat has diabetes and receives insulin injections twice a day, so I understand how important routines, patience, and proper medication administration are. I know how stressful it can be to trust someone else with a pet who needs extra care, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I’m experienced with energetic younger pets who need playtime and structure, as well as senior pets who may need a gentler approach, extra monitoring, or a little more patience. I truly love animals and would care for your pets like they were my own.
