Safety, trust & environment

When at your home, any dogs are only taken out as instructed by their owner due to current schedules, and environmental influences. I choose not to take animals out for walks in high traffic times for their safety and every animal should be leashed. I do not answer doors for strangers, but feel free to let me know the time and date of any maintenance taking place and I will be glad to watch over your home and animals as if it were my own. Upon securing a booking, I would be asking important questions regarding the safety and security of the home (ex.: where is the water shut-off valve, where is the location of the breaker box, et al.) I am trained in all aspects of animals and should need be, I am able to separate animals to minimize their danger to each other.

Information Haley K. would like to know about your pet

Veterinary office and emergency contacts are always the first things I ask my clients. I also request information of their current schedule, any medications they could be taking, how often do they need the medication, the type of food they eat, is water and food kept available to the animals or put away after they've eaten, where do they like to walk, what are their favorite toys/games, how do they react when they're nervous or angry, any triggers they may have, have they had their shots, any training they may be going through or if they are a senior animal what measures must be taken to keep them comfortable?

A typical day

I refrain from going to new places with animals unless otherwise indicated by their owner. I choose to follow specific instructions from owners in order to minimize any potential dangers or harm. I like to take animals on walks, play with their favorite toys, interact with animals, as well as feed them their current recommended amounts. I only give treats indicated by the owners and never give them human food or scraps from the table. I have been known to lay down and take naps with the animals just to become more familiar with them as we take a rest.

Pet care experience

I have been pet sitting since the age of 12. However, pet care began long before that and has been a primary focus in my life. I have had several species of birds, several types of farm animals from chickens to bunnies as well as newborn litters of dogs and cats throughout their stages of life from newborn litters to seniors in passing. I have had special needs animals, rescue animals, mixed breeds and purebred animals. I have been responsible for their care, their grooming, scheduled vet appointments and nursing them back to full health due to surgeries, injuries, illnesses, etc.. I am a veteran of rover.com and a seasoned caretaker prior to becoming a veterinary assistant. Now being certified I feel I am able to accommodate all at-home based needs, be it from the owner or from a veterinarian. I am currently preparing to continue my education in becoming a veterinary technician with future aspirations of becoming a surgical assistant. I have a fondness for animals accompanied by an understanding of their needs and their emotions; a gift bestowed upon me from a very early age. I have a very flexible schedule, I am able to take short trips to take care of your animals as well as extended stays at the animal's location. I do not house animals currently at my home, but have no problem staying on site with any animal needing care, training, and support in their environment where most animals do their very best. I find if I am more flexible, the animal I am caring for does not have to adjust but to one thing and that is me! I had been learning how to groom animals from my mother, a former cosmetologist who had experience with grooming hair and grooming fur as well. She had wished to teach me how to care for an animal’s coat, how to properly bathe the animal whilst giving them a sense of tranquility as they were being treated for their fur coat. I have specialized in animals of all sizes, be it an adorable little cat or a big friendly dog. *** Hello everyone! I am finally back and ready to take care of your pets and spoil them just the way you want me to! I apologize for my leave of absence, as over the last year, my father was very sick and recently lost his battle to cancer. I want you all to know that I am well-prepared to begin my work again without distractions and with a fresh start! I can be available for nearly any and ALL your pets need while you are away and busy, so please do not hesitate to look me up and we can schedule your next vacation! I hope my new and old clients will be as grateful to see me as I will be to see you! ❤️

Haley took amazing care of our dogs and our home while we were away. She was incredibly attentive, kept the house clean and tidy, and was exceptionally communicative throughout our trip, giving us peace of mind knowing they were in such great hands. It was obvious she genuinely cared for them, and we came home to two happy pups and a clean home. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter and would highly recommend Haley to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and caring!
