NEW TO ROVER, but not new to pet sitting! I’m offering a discounted introductory rate while I build my Rover profile, but may up rates in the future if I get too busy. Dogs stay in my home as part of the family with me, my two animal-obsessed daughters, ages 12 and 16, and our two friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Your dog(s) have access to a fully fenced half-acre yard, a dog door, a clean and comfortable carpet-free home and plenty of room to run, sniff and explore indoors and outside. I prefer extended stays and host only one to four visiting dogs at a time, depending on their size, needs and personalities. This allows each dog to settle into our normal household routine and receive plenty of personal attention. I primarily accept small and medium dogs and require a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone will be safe, comfortable and relaxed together. I accept large dogs only if I have boarded them previously and know they are trustworthy around smaller animals, but if you feel strongly that your big mellow dog would fit in best with small animals and not play rough, please reach out! I’ve had dogs for most of my life and regularly care for pets belonging to friends and local families. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs, administering medications and accommodating different exercise needs. I also offer drop-in care for cats, chickens and other small pets in their own homes.

We had such a wonderful experience with Haley! She took amazing care of Bella and Blake and was so kind and caring with both of them. She kept us updated while we were away and even sent pictures, which we really appreciated. We also loved that she took the time to walk them and give them plenty of attention. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our fur babies were being so well cared for. Haley is a caring and kind animal lover! She is responsible and is meticulous in feeding and care instructions, and always gives extra attention! Her home is clean, safe, and animals have access to a fenced backyard with lots of room to frolic! Her knowledge of animal behavior is evident in the happy dogs and cats that she cares for. It is not just the obvious with Haley, my dogs were so loved. I trust my dogs intuitions with regards to humans, and as soon as my more temperamental little man entered her home the energy was so perfect that he didn’t even so much as bark. He fit in instantly and immediately trusted Haley, something no other human has been able since rescuing him (it usually takes him a minute or a few treats!!) I don’t know what it was, some intangible aura, but I felt reassured that he was in the best possible place.
Haley has cared for our two large dogs, Stevie and Loki, a few times now. She is such a loving caretaker who took extra care, made sure they got their walks, and sent regular photos so we knew they were doing well. And our dogs are not without their challenges, one is a puppy who is still learning! She also has a large yard where they can run free. We trust Haley implicitly and will put our pets in her care many times more.
Haley and her daughter Charlie watched my dog Nova while I was away on a work trip and did a phenomenal job. Their home is a literal oasis for dogs, and Nova absolutely loves it there. It’s definitely become her favorite home away from home. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Nova with them again.

Schedule
I work about 10 minutes from home and can usually come home at lunchtime when needed. Dogs get plenty of yard time before and after work, with evenings and weekends available for walks, play and attention. I’m a particularly good fit for dogs that are already comfortable relaxing at home during a normal workday. I can also accommodate midday meals, medications and other care needs.

Visiting dogs live with us as part of the family. They’re welcome on the couch or bed and can use the dog door if they’re comfortable with it. My fully fenced, half-acre yard includes a large lawn, orchard, garden and sagebrush-covered hillside with lots of room to run and explore. Chickens are kept separately in an enclosed coop or their own fenced area. I’m directly on the Steamboat Ditch Trail, so walks start right from the house. I’m also happy to take energetic dogs on longer walks, hikes or runs.

A typical day
Dogs start the day with breakfast and time outside, then settle in for the workday. After work, we usually walk on the Steamboat Ditch Trail and spend plenty of time in the yard before having a relaxed evening at home. Active dogs can join me for longer walks, hikes or runs, while lower-energy dogs are welcome to explore the yard and cuddle on the couch. I adjust activities to each dog’s age, energy level and normal routine.

- I’d love to know your dog’s normal routine, feeding schedule, medications, activity level and favorite things, as well as anything that makes them anxious or uncomfortable. Because I have dogs, cats and chickens, I also need to know how your dog does around other animals and whether they have a strong prey drive. Please let me know about any history of aggression, escaping, excessive barking, destructive behavior or difficulty being left alone so I can make sure my home is a safe and comfortable fit.
